Klitschko's jab is over rated. If it was as good as people say, his fights would be much more interesting, but they are not.

You know why? His jab isn't as much of a jab as an excuse to keep smaller men from getting close to him.

You want to talk about a real jab, we are talking guys like Rafael Marquez, JMM, and Kessler. Guys who actually use their jab as an offensive weapon, not simply a means to cover up a complete lack of defense.

Now does Wlad use his left hand more effectively than anyone in the sport? Perhaps, but that doesn't mean he has the best jab.

Yes it does. When you literally live and die off of the jab, and you manage to win off of the jab. Specially being as dominant as Wlad, you have quite possibly the best jab in boxing.

Wladimir Kiitschko has a killer jab. Miguel Cotto's jab is deadly because it essentially has the power of a southpaw straight left.

You are wrong, and here is why. If Wlad didn't have a right hand, his jab would be ineffective. His jab works because he keeps the right hand holstered and throws it a few times a round. People spend all their time worrying about his right hand, and he sits there and jabs at them. Its not the hardest jab in the world, not the straightest jab in the world, not the fastest jab in the world. Its a pretty good jab, but far from a dominant world beater jab like an Ike Quartey had.

Could be. You could say Wlad has the best jab. But if you look at it closely, it is clearly not as good. IMO, If he was a short guy, that jab would not look that good or perform that well.

Right now, I really can't decide a criteria for the best jab.

              Is it usage ?

Some use it a range finder, some as a way to keep off a pressure fighter, some use it to setup, and some use it to soften up on opponent.

              or form?

              Technique. Speed. Versatility. Accuracy.

That's not true, Wlad also uses his jab to set up his offense. He's definitely a safety first fighter who has his mind on defense most of the time but he has shown the ability to set his offense up behind the jab. And the most effective jab in boxing is the best jab in boxing IMO, no matter how you use it.
