It was speed and reflexes... we could give Kobe Bryant gloves right now and he would replicate Roy's entire career.

That's all you need... speed and reflexes.

He's one of the worst in the business. His defense consists of holding excessively.

Anyone could do that. Its easy.
To be fair weren't those before he worked wit Steward? Well the Peter fight I think Steward was in his corner...

And Cotto had a real live opponent in the deepest division in boxing. Wlad was fighting some paper champion who hadn't fought in years.

Huge difference. If you hate Cotto just say so. These arguments you make hold no water.
Other than the cut which resulted from Cotto actually slamming into Clottey's head his face in general was swollen and looked bad, His eyes were puffy and his cheek bones could not be seen due to the swelling. His nose was also bleeding profusely, and I saw him spit blood out in between rounds. he got busted up from punches and not simply the accidental bunt.

Its not an argument. You said he has great defense and I proved you wrong. He gets hit and k.o'd by pedestrian fighters.

He's got a good record in an era of horrible competition. Its not his fault, but it is what it is.

            All around mediocrity.

He knew how to box, but with his speed and reflexes. He lost those two things and he lost any chance of winning he might of had against a top opponent. Is that not true? Like I said, im not hating on either fighter, I loved watching Roy fight.

Now the butt is Cotto's fault? LOL...Clottey's notorious for using his head.
And of course he got hit, its to be expected against top notch comp like Clottey. That and massive amounts of blood obstructing your vision.

If you could stop trying to compare Roy Jones to Wlad... that would be wonderful.

Roy throws every different type of punch that could possible be thrown... behind the back, bolo, triple left hooks, double right hands, rib breaking body shots, slow motion punches, used his jab in his HW fight...

                    Wlad has two punches.

This is what we are discussing.
