dude theyre both top elite fighters of course you can put them in the same sentence and of course hatton would lose to cotto at 147 hes a 140 fighter and if you say who has hatton fought hes fought a few of the same fighters as cotto he stopped malignaggi (cotto decsioned him) they both fought maussa both stopped him in the 9th and the only time hatton has lost it was to the worlds best and while margarito is a good fighter(who is a cheater) hes no where near the same level as pac or mayweather and so you know i dont think cotto is a bum at all i was just making a comparison that neither are bums

If Kahn beats Hatton it will remove any doubt that he was ever an elite fighter.

That's like saying Ali was never an elite fighter because he lost to Leon Spinks. Hatton may well be shot, after his loss to Pacquiao. And if Khan beats Kotelnik, then he'll have proved himself to be one of the top fighters at the weight. He's already improved dramatically under Roach, and it's far too early to judge how good he can become.

You have the nerve to compare Ali to Hatton. Ali could have lost a 7 year old girl and he would still be considered the greatest. Ali beat some of the greatest heavyweights ever and had the greatest resume of any fighter ever. What has Hatton done beat an old semi retired Tzyu, a shot overweight Castillo and got KTFO twice. Hatton was never an elite fighter, he was just overrated.

I think hatton is a good fighter but he is over now and khan will easily win the fight....

Oh and not to mention he has the worst footwork, is always off balance, and gets knocked out because he walks straight into punches. Does not even see them coming. He is garbage, always has been

Don't be daft, I wasn't comparing anyone with anyone, do you always take analogies completely literally? I was pointing out, using an analogy, that if any shot fighter loses to any more lowly rated fighter, it says absolutely nothing about how elite or otherwise they were when they were at their peak, and that even some of the greatest fighters in history have lost to nobodies after they were shot. And therefore for you to say that if a shot version of Hatton loses to Khan that proves anything about how good or otherwise he was when he was at his peak is ridiculous.

The "old semi retired Tszyu" was rated #3 P4P at the time Hatton beat him and was coming off a FOTY win. The "shot overweight Castillo" was rated #9 P4P at the time Hatton beat him. He also beat almost all of the other top contenders in his weight class, over a period of nearly four years. Your definition of elite is not the dictionary definition. Elite doesn't mean ATG, it just means one of the top fighters in his weight class, and he was.
