I'm against this catchweight ****, but looks like it's goin down. I just hope Cotto is strong at whatever weight he comes in at. He ain't gonna get much props for winnin if he does. And if the weight does affect him, Pac gonna **** his **** up.

I don't think the weight will be a big factor, Cotto can easily make 145. Pac will push for less but he's making enough money were that I don't think he would care to much about an extra pound. If they keep Freddie Roach out of this, I definately think that 145 will be the weight this fight goes down.

War Cotto! Pac ain't never faced a Prime Rican like Cotto. If it took 11 rounds for a big strong 3 time Welterweight Champ like Margarito to stop Cotto. I can't see Pac stopping Cotto. Not to mention Pac isn't that much of a hard hitter after the 6th round imo. Atleast that's what JMM said, and Pac has never been able to drop in the second half of their fights. That's why I think Cotto will beat Pac! War Cotto!

145 makes more sense, now remember that roach wants to protect manny so he will say 142 or put a limit of 150 pds fight weight ....i hope cotto dont do that it will be suicide

I think he will get credit simply because the public isn't looking at it like the majority of the people on here are. I have friends telling me that Pacquiao is going to slaughter Cotto even at 147, but what do they know, right? But what they see is someone of Pacquiao's stature losing to another great fighter.

I'm fine with them making the fight at 145, but anything lower I do agree is giving Pac an advantage, but then does Cotto have an advantage at fighting at 147 or is it the same fight? I think people are jumping the gun on who or what will be the fighters' disadvantages. I highly doubt Cotto's going to risk his health and overall career for the sake of making big money. He's not done whatsoever with the sport and has a few yrs left in the tank. I'm positive theyre trying to make it a level playing field.

I don't see how dropping 1 or 2lbs is going to decide a winner in the fight. Pacquiao will prob come in at 142 and Cotto at 144-145. The big question mark is how much Cotto is going to hydrate for the fight and if he will (or can) do that safely.
exactly.....the difference between this and oscar, was that oscar was fighting at a weight he hadn't fought at in 10 years! not only that, oscar was 3 pounds BELOW the WW limit at the weigh in, and then only rehydrated about 2 pounds overnight! like you say, cotto having to cut off 1 or 2 pounds from his previous fight shouldn't be too big of a difference, unless he's not allowed to rehydrate as much as he usually does betw. the weigh-in and the fight.

the dumb part about this particular "catchweight" fight is that i hear cotto's WW title will be on the line, even though they're fighting at a catchweight.....

it's all marketing. if pacman wins, they'll be able to say he won another title, in another weight class, but i hope ppl will see through the b.s.

Exactly my point. Of course, Cotto would be dumb to accept the fight at 142lbs or lower, but at 144-145 limit...I think he makes it fine truthfully. But the hydration is whats going to play a major role.

I read somewhere that Pac's camp were demanding a fight night weigh in, but not sure how true that is.
