He gets way to much credit for fights that he could or could of not won and that is with Mosley where some say Mosley won or got robbed.
The other is Clottey...a close one but most experts say Cotto lost. Most people say the same.

Cotto did what he wanted to the whole fight & Clottey couldn't force him to fight his fight.
Clottey lacked the ability to cut off the ring as well and as a result Cotto was able to move freely where he wanted.
If anyone was awarded the best ring generalship in that fight it was Cotto.

I think Cotto dictated the Tempo. He moved and boxed when he wanted to, cornered Clottey when he wanted, stood and traded when he wanted. Plain and simple.

listen Ive been listening to all your comments on how you believe clottey beat cotto but in close fights and in draws a popular champion is going to get the benifit of dought clottey as a challenger can leave no dought who won the fight not in our minds but in the judges minds you have to take the tittle not have it given to you by the judges

Cotto won both fights clearly.

He beat Mosley more convincingly tho. Clottey is a figghter that nobody looks good fighting him and the the cut made Cotto change his game plan. Still Cotto won the majority of the rounds and he had the KD that help alot. Clottey did all his good work in rounds 7-9. The Compubox numbers were way of tho, in the 6th round they credited Clottey with 23 landed punches and he didnt even threw 19. they were horrible really, Cotto out threw and Out landed Clottey with 1 eye. Cotto won 7-5 in rounds 115-112

In the other fight Cotto simply outclassed Shane. Cotto oubox Mosley, matched speed and power and chin with him in that fight. Cotto won 8-4 in rounds!!! 116-112

IMO to my own thread ...Cotto won the Mosley fight...I agree..Mosley gave that fight away and he is pissed for it. I do not give Cotto credit for it simply because anyone could of beat Mosley that night...IMO

For the record I thought Mosley/Cotto should have been a draw and Clottey/Cotto was very close but Clottey gave it away in the end. I have read though that many people thought Clottey deserved the decision including my brother and dad, Clottey missed his opportunity and I don't see him getting any more big fights for awhile.
