Point is he's gone up & had success through the divisions. Just admit that it's very rare for someone to be in the position that he's in & maybe you'll get over your notion of 2lbs being life/death in this fight.

The Oscar fight / 147 was a one-off deal, and this was made clear by Freddie Roach months ago.
If there is practically no difference between a Cotto at 147 and at 144/45 then why fight at the catchweight? Why not fight for the WW title?

People move up in weight all the time and dont ask for concessions. You're right that is a rare spot to be in. But I wouldnt be proud of it. This is just a case of Arum trying to give his cash cow every possible advantage.

141-147 is the WW limit so the WW title will be on the line.

Please name me these so called concessions that have been asked for by pac in any of his previous fights...

Wouldn't be proud? After 50+ pro fights you ask for a couple lbs and suddenly you shouldnt be a proud lol. C'mon man thats insane.

              ****. *** I am ignorant about catchweights.

I like Pac a lot. I just think he should fight Miguel at 147.

Fair enough, I disagree. 2lbs isn't winning/losing in this fight, it's just for both guys to be within 1lb of each other 36 hours before the bell rings.

Since when has Cotto looked for excuses for losing a fight? In the Margarito fight it took him a while to even think that Margarito used the plaster wraps in the fight against him, and even then he blamed himself for not sending someone to check the wraps. So if Cotto signs the contract he will never say he was weight drained nor anything like that.

I can can just see it now "I was weight drained" and fair enough he might end up draining himself as well.

Look I really like Pac, but I think he should just straight out fight him at 147 like he did Oscar.
even with the catchweight, cotto would still outweigh him about 12 pounds. that's not a big enough advantage?

i want this fight at 147 like you guys, but can't blame pac for wanting to even out the playing field. i mean come on, a few months ago cotto would have been the massive favorite againts him..

Excuses work both ways. If miguel angel beat pac, then pac can also claim that cotto is just too big for him despite the catch weight.

Cotto is given the free will to agree or disagree at 144. if ever, fans will make the excuses for him.
