im no fan of catchweights either. but if the fight is made at 147, cotto would be like 15 lbs heavier. major advantage. kinda unfair to little packy don't you think?
with regards to the oscar fight, oscar set the weight. pac's camp just put somewhere in the contract about dlh paying a fee if he goes over the limit. and people were cying about how "oscar's gonna take pac's head off at this weight".
i think a lot of people are adding too much on this weight drained thing. i mean yeah, it affects the fighter negatively but it aint the only ****ing thing that determines the outcome of a fight. i think more than anything, its just an excuse. like a ****ty camp or some distractions...
Gotcha....the other thing about the Oscar fight is this....
ALOT has been emphasized on the weight drainage....BUT...what other fighter out there could've made Oscar look THAT BAD that night? No one...Oscar wouldn't have killed himself to make that weight...and I feel he tried to get down to a weight where his "speed" would be comparable to Pac's...big mistake. SO alot of credit needs to go to Pac as well.....I mean...ever sen anyone fight Hatton the way Pac did? Floyd didn't even have that type of reaction to Hatton's punches...- 1st KD in the fight....caught him with a perfect right hook, BEFORE Hatton even threw the punch and he even "slipped" the punch after Hatton threw it....thats FAST....Comment

i think dlh wanted to come in as light as possible. he was thinking pac was some chump he can ko anytime he wants (that's what everybody else thought) that's why he was like 147 by fight night. i mean he cant get credit for this fight if he outweighs pac by 15 lbs. he was already getting **** when this fight got signed. big mistake.. he got his greedy ass whooped for it.
and it pisses me off how he cries on how he felt like a shell of his former self because of the weight. you set the weight for that fight asswipe...Comment
