I can't believe there is such an uproar about Calderon... he was originally taken off the list because The Ring thought Mayol was a bad opponent, and not worthy of P4P consideration. I think that is complete bull****, as he was a mandatory, but...
He got a draw against him. The worst part is... the slickster is supposed to own the early rounds and try to fend off a comeback in the later rounds in most fights. That means that Mayol was doing just as well as Calderon in the early rounds that were supposed to be clearly Calderon's.
Anyway, Paul Williams should obviously be on there, probably instead of Donaire. I'm not sure wtf Donaire has done that is so jaw dropping so far, other than beating Darchinyan, who actually looks like he has fixed a lot of the problems that let Donaire beat him at 112.
Caballero deserves to be on there. He beat Somsak to give him his second loss to get the WBA title. He has a win over Ponce de Leon, which was his first loss. He also beat an undefeated Molitor in Canada to unify the belts. That's a pretty solid resume.
I think they dropped Cotto down a couple of spots, because even though he won, he didn't look good at all doing it. I'm pretty sure without the first round knockdown, it would be almost impossible to score that fight for Cotto. Basically, the feeling I got from the fight is that Clottey showed he was the better head-to-head fighter against Cotto, regardless of how it was scored. Clottey was consistently beating Cotto the punch.
I think Chad Dawson deserves some consideration for the P4P list as well. Adamek, Johnson (soon to be twice) and Tarver to score 2 belts isn't too bad.
Adamek also deserves some consideration. His run through cruiserweight has been really good. He beat Bell, Cunningham and Banks in a three fight spree. It reminds me a lot of Donaire-Darchinyan. Although one holds a win over the other, you can make an argument that the other actually has the better overall record, enough so to make up for the head-to-head loss.
To be honest, if Wladimir Klitschko wins this weekend, he probably deserves at least some consideration for the list as well.
