He wasn't a risk taker much like Roy jones.froch has totally stepped up & is willing to take risks.like froch or not you must respect his willingness to fight the best NOW not 10 years from now.

Calzaghe knows very well no one will pay him 10M "pounds." He just said it to stop people from pestering him to come out of retirement.

He says 10 million, but I bet he would jump on an offer of 6 million, so there is a possibility he would come back. I want to see him fight Dawson.

Please son, if that fight happens, all my points on Calzaghe without a second thought. Froch would come in with that superwide uppercut and catch a left to the to the dome-piece. He would be outboxed easily and outclassed.

I really don't think anything is going to entice Calzaghe to come out of retirement. As a boxing fan I wish he would fight both the winner of the Johnson-Dawson rematch and Paul Williams. My opinion of Joe has kind of been like the stock market. I was rooting for Lacy to stomp a mudhole in his ass because I was excited by Lacy's fights on Showtime, and I had never seen Calzaghe fight. And he actually won me over with that performance over Lacy. But then he follows up that victory with an ugly win over Sakio Bika and a **** sparring session with Manfredo. During the lead up to those fights I looked up his record and saw a bunch of lightly regarded Euro opposition, and that combined with those two wins made me not respect him. The win over Kessler caused me to gain a lot of respect back for him. But then the shine was taken off that victory by Kessler's inactivity, Calzaghe's razor close victory over Hopkins, and the absolutely opportunistic choice of opponent in Roy Jones. I probably need to go back and watch Joe's fight with Robin Reid. They say that's one fight of where he had to dig down deep to get the victory and only won by split decision. I do think Calzaghe is good enough to beat Dawson and Johnson though. I think Johnson would be a slightly tougher fight because Dawson isn't the type of fighter to impose his will on someone. Paul Williams is the complete package in my view. He's both aggressive and has boxing skills. That workrate along with the reach advantage would be a bad style match up for Joe in my view. It would almost be like fighting a taller version of himself with the only difference being that Paul throws punches more correctly, but has a little bit less hand speed.

The headlines read "$10 million (dollars), but in the article Joe talks about 10 million pounds. Which is about 15 million dollars. Anyway, I don't think that he should or will unretire, he's made a unique record for himself.

For a fighter that many claim would not generate much interest by coming back Calzaghe sure has generated a lot of interest on this forum by just mentioning something that will never happen. Does that make sense?
