So the numbers did have something to do with Floyd?
I am confused now, cause you just said they didn't... they either did or didn't.
If Oscar has never done 2.4 million buys without Mayweather, then how does it have nothing to do with Mayweather?
The guy fought Tito, Mosley, Hopkins, etc. and they didn't do that many buys, so if it is the case it has nothing to do with Floyd... where have the other numbers magically appeared from?
***ING CHRIST........... This is why I hate posting **** on this board, because dumb muthe***ers who can't read and comprehend try to act like they can break down a post and analyze everything you say. Not to mention a ***ing 17 yr old doing.
HEY DUMB MUTHER ***ER, when the *** did I say anything about Mayweather having NOTHING TO DO with the 2.4 mil buy? HUH!?? You ****** ***, I said Mayweather by himself is not a big draw at all.
Listen carefull you dumb f@ggot. Mayweather is not a DRAW. Why? Because his style is not exciting, he prefers to play it safe and people don't like watching that kind of fighting. It doesn't mean that Mayweather, when paired up with another fighter who is a big draw, he will have no effect. Especially when he fought ODLH he was the P4P champ so people wanted to see DE LA HOYA fight the P4P champ. They weren't there to see Mayweather Jr. fight the golden boy.

Mayweather vs Hatton did 900k+ buys and I hear it did around a million or more in the UK (don't quote me on the UK part).
So, your saying... because Floyd has never done 2.4 million buys without Oscar it was all Oscar, and because Oscar has never done 2.4 million buys without Mayweather Floyd still had nothing to do with it and it was all Oscar?
Lets face it, the buys did have something to do with Floyd on his part, I aint saying Floyd did it all... of course Oscar and Hatton had a lot to do with it too... but you can't say those buys had nothing to do with Floyd, thats just ******.
On Mayweather not having any other huge PPV buys, I meant that other than the ODLH AND Hatton fight, Mayweather has no huge PPV buys. Nothing even close. And both times were when both of his opponents were the two guys with the biggest following when the fights happened.
Like I said, I never said that Mayweather had nothing to do with the larger PPV buy. But just because he affected the PPV buy by making more ODLH fans want to watch their guy fight the P4P champ doesn't mean Mayweather himself is a big draw.

It really is and I'm amazed at how ignorant some people here are when they truly believe that.
Mayweather IS NOT a big draw at all. The only reason he had those two record PPVs were because of the other guy.
Both Oscar and Hatton fans were the ones who purchased the PPVs, not Floyds. Floyd would still be on ESPN if it weren't for those two guys.
Yeah but what most are not getting is, both of them had their biggest PPV's when they fought Floyd. That says something for Floyd. I am no fan of Floyd, but some people will try to dig at anything to tear him and his fans down.
The reason why this fight did not sell:
1: Mismatch - People are demanding that Floyd earns his money
2: Economy
3: Fans are fickle and forget - Floyd will have to fight a non PPV to show and remind fans where he is at. He has to do this first and foremost. Then when he gets that momentum, he can go back to PPV. Now this is his own fault along with Goldenboy promotions. There is no way he deserves 15million for a comeback fight and I guarantee you that Goldenboy are freaking right now. If you want to unload a product, you need to introduce it before you can sell it.

Yeah this fight deff should not be PPV. Is there even a title on the line? And a 24/7 is not necessary either.
HBO has a tight budget but they're quick to throw out 24/7 series...

this fight can be ppv, but floyd needed to promote it right. he didn't need to call jmm a smaller guy. he didn't need to tell the people at the press conference than he just came from the club. he didn't have to say mosley didn't deserve a fight with him.
he especially didn't need to talk so much about pac when jmm is his next opponent. he talked so much about pac that he made people forget jmm was there at all. floyd needed to tell everyone how good jmm is and that he is 100% concentrated on jmm. floyd didn't have to tell journalists he'd beat pac's ass or pac needs to accept 60/40.
he could've been really humble when brian kenny interviewed him. he could've showed the casual fans that he's hurting from the recession too, but at the same time he's still doing charity work and other good stuff.
floyd definitely needed this fight to be 24/7 to sell the fight. with out it, i don't think it will do well at all because 24/7 does a great job of making mismatches look competitive.
