Actually he said he thought Cotto won 4 and 6....

If it wasn't for the knockdown, Cotto was losing round 1. I think of all those guy Emmanuel is the best, most fair guy. He calls it like it is and as soon as the first round was over, he said it was going to be a tough fight for Cotto because of the way that suprisingly Clottey was outboxing him from the outside.

I had Clottey winning by one point but I knew it would have been very hard to beat Cotto in NYC. 116-111, 115-112.........are they serious?? Terrible judging..

Steward seems to only fit certain types of fighters. I hate the way he teaches defense too. It's either clinch inside or back away with your hands out and head back. As it stands, I think he'd be a horrible fit for Cotto. He's an excellent analyst and he can tell you things others don't see, but as far as enforcing it, I'm not so sure. Unless he's with certain guys.

I don't know about Manny but anyone of the top trainers would be bettter than Joe. The Clottey fight is a bad example on what he really need to work on because he was fighting with one eye, he couldn't see the right hand coming. Before the cut he was covering up well and nothing really solid was coming through. After round six Clottey found a home for that right hand and Cotto couldn't see it, he was anticipating but he couldn't stop it. Cotto had to run in this fight much more than he wanted, he couldn't put pressure on Clottey because he could not stop the right hand.

Like I said before you can't judge Cotto off of this performance, he had a serious disadvantage too early in the fight but still he adjusted and did what he needed to do to win.

Honestly, I think it's a bad fit. Steward teaches fighters usually big tall ones to use their jab and utilise their straight right.

Look at the guys he's trained Hearns, Lewis, Banks, Wlad thats who he's trained and they aren't great outside fighters.

I could be wrong but recently Steward hasn't trained fighters to fight well on the inside, he may have lost it Taylor, Wlad, Banks, Cintron and his most famous fighter Hearns fold when other fighters can get inside of their jab, right hand. He used to train guys like JCC, McCallum, Toney and Benitez who were all effective up close like Cotto but that was a long time ago. We'll have to see.

First off....any world class trainer is better than what Cotto's got.

Second, I agree he's not a great fit. Although, he's got at teaching fighters to utilize strength advantages which Cotto certainly has over Pac. That being said, I still think Nacho would be much better.
