Cotto needs to learn better movement and ring generalship...He tends to fight always moving to his left and in this case he was circling into Clottey's right hand....The fact that Jim pointed out that Cotto should change to South paw before he actually did or anyone in his corner did was upsetting. He still holds his hands up and his elbows out leaving room up the middle for the uppercuts.....Much of what he did wrong against Margarito was still evident here in this fight. The fact that Clottey was not as agressive in his attack as Margarito and throws less punches and seemingly stopped throwing the uppercuts and using his right hand when he was clearly landing it at will in rounds 7,8,9 it disappeared in rounds 10,11 and 12.....Cotto defintely needs to work with a trainer who will teach him to adjust during a fight and not revert to running and circling in one direction. he gets his backon the ropes too often and ends up in the corner...he was able to turn his opponent....A trainer who could teach him to move to his right and tighten up his gaurd would be beneficial to his improvement....Lefty

That is true and Emmanuel made some good points about how Cotto should attack Clottey. Pointing to the De La Hoya vs Ike Quartey fight and counter punching but still I feel he is a bit too old and I don't feel him for some reason.

Cotto already knows how to fight inside, so Steward could concentrate on his defense. I think it could help Cotto a lil bit.

steward is never a bad choice for anyone, but his main thing is to teach tall fighters how to beat shorter fighters. ofcourse he can teach anything, but he says himself thats his main thing. there are better fits for miguel out there, but steward wouldnt be wrong eighter. the new guy he had in his corner ****** some balls.

I see a few guys being a better fit for training Cotto than Manny. Roach, Nacho, Goosen even a Mayweather........they would all be able to add tools to Cotto's tool box.

Manny would be a good fit for guys like Paul Williams, Cintron.
