Not really. Just shows differences in business philolosophy. If you are part owner of GBP would you want your company issuing statements about a semi-retired fighter not in your stable as being greater than your fighter who happens to be ranked #2 p4p and has staye active??

That's really not a surprise, when you think about it.

HBO has treated Hopkins like **** since as far back as I can remember.

They were always extremely critical of his fighting style, his opposition, and his attitude.

They've barely given the man any credit within the last 8 years, aside from the Trinidad performance, the Tarver performance, and the Pavlik performance.

It no surprise that he wouldn't have a high opinion of them, given the way they've treated him.

As for his fighting career ; I've said it a million times already, Hopkins is finished. There's really nobody out there that can offer him the kind of money he wants, or the kind of "big name, legacy fight" he wants.

At the end of the day it's just not worth his time to put his aging body through yet another grueling training camp to fight a guy who doesn't offer him either of those things.

Hopkins does have options he can fight Froch for good money and theres always a Roy Jones rematch that people would pay to see.

What I am saying though is that it's not necessarily jealousy. He may or may not be having creative differences with his company for their decision to treat mayweather as such. He may or may not be simply looking at it as bad for business and nothing else.
