The best fighter that never realized his own potential....

I would say James "lights out" Toney......

Great skills....even in his now Super-Heavyweight days....if he remained disciplined enough to stay in shape...he could've been one of the top 50 fighters of all-time. Hard to believe that the same guy fought Roy Jones back in the day at Middleweight.....

Another fighter in my opinion was "Terrible" Terry Knorris.....never really stayed disciplined enough to his craft....but had the talent and skills to make alot of noise.....

What other fighters come to mind?

Jermaine Taylor recently crosses my mind. Terry Norris is what I thought too, he had some great offensive boxing skills and was outclassing Jackson until... well you know.

You can still make a case for Toney being top 50, based on his accomplishments and quality of opposition. He should've been top 25.

What potential did you see there? If you're really serious......

I vaugely remember him now...he had a great streak early in his career right?
Something like 30-0 with 30 KOs.....kinda reminds me of Edwin Valero....with defensive abilites....

That's a good one....never had the mental toughness...relied too much on his skills....plus I believe the Welterweight division "got to big for him".....he is more of a JWW fighter.....I personally think that he would give Pacquiao hell....until the later rounds where his "mental toughness" would be his downfall via 10th-11th round TKO....
