what are you talking about? i have seen PPV commercials, 24/7 commercials, press clips on spanish television.. BET, ESPN. It's gotten more promotion then Margarito vs Cotto got.

& even though there's a limited amount of seats 300 per person is much better then 50 dollars a household.

anyway, this only proves what kind of fans Floyd has (or should I say stans). They'll talk big about him, act like he can walk on water, but when it comes down to really supporting him, they wont get off their ass and buy a ticket to go watch him fight.
That's not a real fan IMO. That's just riding someone's bandwagon.
A real fan would want to watch his favorite fighter live at least once, knowing he was there for it and part of the atmosphere.
it has nothing to do with me not getting off my ass.... im 17 and i live in florida, u gonna buy my ticket? have you seen the cost of airfare these days? thats the real problem... cotto fans get to see him fight because he comes to them.

RICKY HATTON? Do you know who he is? His fans have been coming to the US since Ricky made the trip accross the pond. Floyd is not a draw, I dont care if Floyd paid for the tickets and offered to fly me out for free all expenses paid, I would not go.

but you hate floyd.... and who else does that besides rickys following? that type of **** is what made hatton a fight option imo.... thats what made hatton special. if i had the money, id go and see floyd fight in the blink of an eye.

I'm not blaming you, I'm saying in general. Of course you ain't gonna have the funds being 17.

Oscar will turn up fans where ever he may go, so will Hatton and Pacquiao too.

Mayweather has lived in Las Vegas for a long time. I believe it's like ten years?
So he should have no problem selling out his home city.
You know why he doesn't though? Because Floyd really never made an effort to win the fans over. It's always been just about him & his money.
If Floyd actually did something for his fans once in a while it would be a different story but I can't recall one time where I heard HEY! Mayweather is having a signing downtown or is throwing a fan appreciation day or anything of the sort.

Then again, Mayweather doesn't fight for the fans or to prove who the best is. Mayweather fights for the money and the money only. That's fine, but without the fans don't expect the money to always keep being there.

although u have a point, i dont feel like he owes me anything. I like the way floyd goes about winning in the sport i love. i buy fights just because im board sometimes (i need to stop that ****) but im not a crazed little girl screaming at the top of my lungs for one specific fighter . Ill see a floyd fight when i can, probably when im 18. Until then, ppv it is. If ppl dont like floyd because he doesnt give them anything outside of his performances in the ring, than they arent real fans imo

                  Mayweather...this is embarrassing

This would've been a big ratings hit if it were a WCB fight, but Floyd ruined it with his desire for a 20 mil purse. HBO told him the only way he's getting anything near that would be via PPV. We all should've known right there that this fight was heading for a crash and burn. It's bad enough it's against a lightweight, but now we have to pay? Floyd Sr. should've checked his facts before blaming HBO a couple of days ago about putting this on PPV. Jr. and only Jr. is the reason this is PPV.

This is where playing the pantomime villain gets you, you dont end up with real fans.

I dont really see any logic there. If one of your fighters is a gentleman outside the ring as well as a beast inside it, it makes you feel better about supporting them and possibly shelling out the cash to go see them and cheer them on.

The fact is that Floyd, for all his talent, doesnt engender that sort of loyalty from his fans, in fact part of the reason his PPV figures have been so high is because the majority of people want to see him get put on his ass.
