Oscar wasn't a Welterweight. 147 was the middle ground.

So I guess Cotto isn't considered another Ricky Hatton, he is considered a threat by Roach. I guess Roach realizes Cotto shows signs of defense and lateral movements, something Hatton has neglected most of his career while relying on clinching tactics.

Everyone and their mommas was bitching about the De La Hoya fight.. people thought Pacquiao had no chance.
They didn't know what Oscar still had left in him though or that the weight was going to effect him that much.. at the end of the day though the advantages on each side didn't outweigh each other and it was more of a fair fight then it should have been.
Pacquiao won and did something no one thought he would do.

Cotto may or may not be damaged from the Margarito fight but he is a prime fighter that's a welterweight. Pacquiao has some massive balls if he goes through with this.. thug life to the fullest.

Oscar stated before the fight was signed that the lowest he would fight was 147, regardless of the opponent..

Pac has fought at 147, I don't really understand why should there be a catchweight for this fight. Wouldn't Pac want to get full credit for beating Cotto at WW instead of fighting a weight drained version of Cotto. Saying that I don't think he can beat Cotto and he's just trying to get some kind of advantage.

Pacquiao would follow Dela Hoya all the way to heavyweight.

                Cotto doesn't bring Oscar-type dough.

                Just my opinion.

                  exactly.

                  oscar was at 154.

his fight before pacquiao was at 150.

                  oscar dropped 3 lbs.

                  cotto can't do the same?

Roach openly stated he wouldn't have let Pac fight a prime DLH at 147. The fact that DLH was past prime is the only thing that even allowed the slightest notion of that fight bein competitive. Nobody woulda guessed DLH would be so weak.
