Cotto fought over 9 rounds with one eye and you dont give him a break. And if Paul Williams does decide to brush this challenge off if Clottey expects the fight at 147 you can't blame him. The only guys he should have to drain down for are Cotto and Mosley because those are the big names. Clottey deserves a big fight after the performance he put up, but Paul Williams views him as a step backward, and rightfully so.

Pwill also stops when he gets hit. A sound counter by clottey (like quintana was able to do) Would work in his favor. People seem to forget that Pwil is a high output puncher but will slow down drastically if he is hit. A few counter punches will put a end to his workrate easily because he'll then be less comfortable opening up in fear of geting caught. Plus he'd also have to have more of a defensive mind when getting hit.

You guys are basing the fight solely on Pwills offensive abilities.

Quintana didn't beat Williams because of his countering ability, it was a mix of Quintana's constant lateral movement, his being able to constantly land his overhand left cleanly and easily, and Paul taking him lightly coming in weight drained.

If Winky couldn't counter Williams over 12, Joshua won't be able to do much either. His countering ability is ok, but Williams' constant combination throwing makes him very hard to time and counter. Like in all his other fights, while Paul is throwing Clottey will be in his shell, that and his stretches of inactivity have been his downfall in all 3 of his losses and those 2 weaknesses would be exploited to the fullest extent by P-Dub.

Dude gotta agree with what you said about the fight before the cut, I consider the cut less consequential because I had Clottey winning rounds 1,2, and 3 save for the KD in round 1. And if Cotto hadn't been cut in 3 he may or may not have fought 4 with the same urgency so those saying the cut made all the difference should save it! Big props to cotto for manning up and fighting with the cut though.
