if a b fighter in quintana can land "blind haymakers" for 12 rounds against williams what does that say about williams defense. like i said before no matter what happend in rematch he will always have that loss and no it wasnt like the jones loss againt griffin it was legit

Clottey could win if he stays active.
Williams would likely throw a **** load of punches while Clottey covers up and blocks them and will lack the fire power to hurt Williams. Clottey will avoid being hit clean and or hurt but will be outworked and probably drop a decision, probably controversial because Clottey will land the cleaner shots but will be outworked.Last edited by Boxer1590; 06-15-2009, 09:35 AM.Comment

Clottey isnt nearly active enough to beat Williams.
**** he lost to Cotto (though I thought he should have won) due to low activity.
Williams showed no respect for Winky's stiff jab and just kept coming forward, Clottey cant hurt him or outwork him.
Terrible style match up for ClotteyComment

This will be the contrary to Paul vs Margarito fight, Paul will end up wining the second half of the fight, if Clottey can win enough rds at the beginning of the fight I think he beats Williams, I see him countering Williams cleanly every time.
If Williams is not available, clottey should rematch Margarito that should get him to the top as well.Comment

Here is what I told my PR friends who sat in the crowd with me. The reality was Clottey won the fight by a point. But I said the judges were either gonna declare a draw, or Cotto was gonna get the hometown decision. NOBODY in that crowd thought Cotto won, but they were glad he did. As far as Clottey was concerned, the headbutt was an accident. But he WAS leading in with his head afterwards. So you are right, Clottey is no angel. But Cotto SLAMMED him to the ground. Mercante didnt see it cause he tripped over the ****in cameramen and turned his back for that split second. Major foul. Cotto hit him in the back of the head. Major foul. He hit him low. Major foul. When Cotto is in danger he fouls. Clottey is no angel, and Cotto is worse when he is in trouble.Comment

This fight will be Paul Williams v. Winky Wright all over again. But it shows how desperate Clottey is to get the big fights during his career. I can't say that I blame him, though.Comment
