Also if Floyd was faking the injury, I assume he will get caught on tape (or just in pctures) doing something he should not be able to do with a real injury because Floyd just is not that smart (a lot smarter people have been caught on similar scams).

I hope it is not that serious though, but if it is a rib cartalage injury those are no joke.
    Entirely possible.

But something about it just doesn't seem right.

If it was a hand problem like he's been documented to be prone to in the past, I'd buy it easily.

But this just seems so strange to happen all of a sudden, on a Sunday no less, with little to no promotion for the Marquez fight, and nobody really giving his return the intrest that I'm sure he felt he deserved.

Sure, we all discussed it nonstop for a few days.

But since then, nobody aside form his huggers are even mentioning him anymore because we have other **** we're focused on.

It wouldn't surprise me if it was a ploy for more money and promotion, or if he just pulled out and opted to go right for Manny.

I loathe accepting Floyd's words at face value, but until I see like a video of him lifting a TV or dancing the night away in a Vegas club I will accept that he is injured. Floyd is not a spring chicken anymore, stuff like this happeans sometime. He claimed it happeaned a week ago and he tried to work through it, would it really have made a difference if he said it on Friday as opposed to Sunday the same critism would apply, when you cancle a fight there is always some heat better to do it as early as possible (imo).

If he opts to changes fights, that would support your case well unless JMM made the first move. If he is faking an injury he deserves whatever heat he gets, to me it is tough to say that though until there is solid proof (although we are unlikely to ever see that, well unless Floyd is dumb and goes out partying).

        Agree on all points.

It's the type of thing that raises one's eyebrow, and postponing fights always pisses off fans ; but we really can't know unless he gets caught, or pulls out to make something else happen.

Like I told you, I hope the injury is legit.

So those ribs are already softened up for my boy Juan Manuel come fight night.

UFC 100 is happening a week before the original date of July 18th. People would have spent all their money in Vegas during the weekend of the UFC event. Most people would likely spend their allotted PPV money on the UFC event.

The new date: September 19th. Mexican Independence Day weekend (Sept 16th is the actual date). Marquez fans will surely fork out the cash on this date. PPV sales will be pretty damn good for the fight around September 16th thanks to Marquez. But I'm sure Gayweather will claim the numbers saying he's Mr PPV, LMAO.
          y'know, this sound entirely plausible.

Real reason is because Mayweather and Golden Boy don't want to risk having low numbers then having to bargain on Manny's terms, look for Manny/Mayweather to get done this year with Cotto not getting the fight. It has absolutely nothing to do with UFC, they don't even have the same fan bases.

Edit** Also I think Marquez will get another fight and be promised the winner of Mayweather/Manny if there isn't an immediate rematch.

It is possible that I would bet against Floyd under these circumstances. I do not think it would change the odds on JMM much, because you can the thought process on this board "Oh it is just a little rib injury that will not be a big deal".

I would have to watch the situation very close leading up to the fight to make that call though.

The weekend around September 16th has always been a big boxing weekend. It's the reason Oscar always fought around the date; it's part of the reason Oscar is the biggest PPV star in the history of the sport, so it will definitely make a difference in revenue generated by the fight.

Now that the fight has been rescheduled to the weekend after Mexican Independence Day (Sep 16), sales for the fight in increase at a faster rate thanks to Juan Manuel Marquez. LMAO, 3000 tickets, Floyd got owned.

How? How does this prove anything... 0 proof of the ticket sales being bad yet... maybe he was injured, maybe not... for fuck sake your acting like he isn't allowed an injury. It was common knowledge that it would most likely be on the 19th, maybe he was injured and they thought they would do the best thing of a bad situation by putting it on the 19th if they can.

How does this scream being owned? Isn't Floyd allowed an injury? Is there any proof about 3000 tickets besides insider reports? Is there any proof he isn't injured?

Maybe it was faked, maybe not, maybe it was quite bad but they exaggerated it to put it to a better date nobody knows, until then whatever we say or think is just based on our own opinions and assumptions... meaning nobody has been "owned", once there is genuine proof that the injury was fake, and not just adding one and two things together... then it would be the case of Floyd being "owned".
