You don't just jump the likes of Rafael Marquez, Israel Vazquez, Shane Mosley, Bernard Hopkins, and Juan Manuel Marquez with just one fight.

Not even if the opponet is Pacquiao.

    Regardless, it won't happen anyway.

Cotto showed signs of "Quitto" last night against Clottey.

Against a fast, aggressive son of a ***** like Pacquiao, he'll fold like a cheap beach chair.
I thought Clottey clearly won, but I wish he had just said **** it put his guard down and took Cotto out, who was ready to be ******ed.

He won a in a close fight. I still think Clottey is a true great fighter who can win a belt at 147. So stop your hating. Both of these fighters gave us a great fight last night.

No he dint....he moved and boxed in the last rounds. A smart move, when you have an almost 2inch cut over one of your eyes. Cotto or Mayweather are going to eat Pacquiao for dinner..

You can bet your ass that if Cotto turns into "Quitto" at any point against Pacquiao ; he's finished.

People are acting like Cotto is a ****load bigger than him, and packs a real cannon.

Truth be told, Cotto hasn't been a big hitter at 147 since he got here. He's an accumulation guy, not a one punch guy.

And Manny will be too damn fast for him.

I called it a year and a half ago, you know.

              But Cotto? Doubtful.

It's nothing personal (or "pelsonar" as Manny would say), he just doesn't have the power to stop Manny without having to land a ****load.

And Manny's hard to land on if you're not a technical guru like Marquez and Floyd.

Forget quitting, if Manny forces Cotto to back up and run I think he will ruin his name. Like could you imagine a man weighing 160+ on fight night running from a man weighing 146?

I agree with you....But if Cotto beats Manny...Manny is no longer P4P#1

So hypotheticly who would become #1 JMM?

Cotto at least gets number 2 in the world....If he was already top ten before beating Clottey he's moved up some spots with his gutsy performance last night...So it's not much of a stretch that after he beats the P4P#1 boxer in the sport he himself could rise to be #1P4P at least number 2....It's not like he doesn't have the body of work to at least put him up for consideration.

Cotto has a beautiful right hand, jab, and left hook. All the punches you need to hang with a southpaw. He can cut off the ring. Mixes it up with a variety of punches to the head and body beautifully. I say late round TKO for Cotto, doubtful after the Margarito fight, sure. Yet the su****ion of plaster involved could have been a HUGE factor in that fight...

LMAO dude U must be a cotto nut hugger kuz U just dug deep to make Cotto sound like a god with Mosley, Judah etc......hey Im a Cotto fan but lets be honest his only amazing win was Moslet....hell he didnt even think he could beat him....Judah gets beat by everyone along with the rest of his resume. Pacquiao beat some amazing fighters in his last maybe 8 fights he does look better and everyone including the betting odds in Vegas knows it and so does the P4P list where hes #7. Cotto will get abused UNLESS they fight at 147 then your right Cotto will rip Pacquiao apart

Bob Arum announcing that Miguel Cotto will in fact challenge Pacquiao for the pound 4 pound supremacy, this is what had to happen in boxing. I know a lot of you are butthurt that Floyd got hurt, boohoo it happens, Floyd is the past, Cotto is the future. Do not be mistaken by yesterdays performance, NOBODY looks good against Joshua Clottey. Cotto fought with 1 eye getting blood poured into it, which weakens and demorizes you. Clottey could not close the show, when everybody knows Cotto doesn't have to be knocked down, he can be made to submit when you apply the right pressure. Cotto was running for his life for a couple of rounds and Clottey could still not make him submit, or fall. Cotto fought like a champion yesterday. Now, the reason I say Cotto will be P4p King, is because Pacquiao is just NTO on his level. WHo has the more impressive victories? COtto : Judah Mosley Clottey Jennings Quintana Gomez the list goes on and on. Cotto has shown that he faces the best out there, unlike other "welters". He was not afraid to face Margarito, and Clottey. He beat Mosley. Pacquiao is good, but really, and old DEHYDRATED oscar? A OVERRATED BUM like hatton? He bit a bit too much and he's going to look like a little boy against Cotto come november 14th. Only way he wins is if he makes Miguel go down to 144 or below, crippling him effectively. Cotto hits like a mule, and Manny paqcuiao and his style like to get hit, a lot. Cotto is going to expose this temporary p4p king, and he's going to be number 1 in the world come november. This is what boxing has been waiting for, because now, Floyd will have to go to Cotto, he will have nowhere else to run. Pacquiao CAAAAANA win, but its highly unlikely. This fight will not go past 7 rounds, they are both aggresive and will not be boxing looking pretty to the ropes, they will go at each other from round 1 and Cotto is going to put pressure on the smaller framed pacquiao, when pacquiao gets hit he's going down like he already has in the past.
