You can say he took a beating, you can also say cotto overcame extreme adversity and proved he is no quitter.

Just a couple things I noticed on this site

1.While Clottey fought a great fight and is a top notch fighter he did not do enough to BEAT THE CHAMP. I will say it again for some of those who have forgotten one of boxing's golden rules, you must BEAT THE CHAMP, not come close to or almost. This is true in all of boxing not just Cotto's case.


2.Because Cotto got cut very seriously over his eye(from an illegal headbut)and could not see clotteys right hand now Clottey gave Cotto a boxing lesson? He knocked him down the first round and by the way Clottey was gassed in the CHAMPIONSHIP ROUNDS you have to believe without that cut Cotto would have been able dominate the rounds clottey won easily.

Cotto is NOT the champ.
