According to Comubox punches landed were 58 to 55 in favor of Mayol so I don't know how being so close would Mayol be robbed.

That's not a good gauge on how a fight went down. Calderon could have connected 55 punches in the 1st round and nada in the succeeding rounds, while Mayol's punches are distributed evenly on all the rounds, and vice-versa. I'm not saying that's how the fight went down, I'm just proving that punches connected is not the precise way to judge a fight...
