He does have stuff to prove but the people that really want him to prove himself he can never do enough (everyone is different though). I just want his comeback to work out well and go beyond a couple fights (I think he will fight atleast through next year) with that he should be able to prove himself to all that are reasonable (depending on who he fights, and since Floyd wants the $$$$$$$$ he can really only look for big fights).
yeah but floyd has to fight a real welter. saying that marquez is a bigger draw than mosley or cotto is ******ed, he wont break top 45 ATG with fights like that.

Good thread. Floyds a welter straight up. He was a champ at 147 for a reason.

hes already in that category, since boxing is a "what have you done for me lately" sport, its easy for you to say that, the goal at this point for mayweather is to climb further up. Beating the number 1 and then the number 2 p4p, followed by a couple welter champs will do that. IMO its the only way hell do it. If he comes out the victor or if he doesnt, he just has to do it, and i think he knows that, no matter what him or his advisors say.

First of all let me say this one more time I like Floyd but he is full of ****, everything that comes out of his mouth in public or to the press is virtually meaningless.

To me Floyd is fighting JMM for 1 reason, to look impressive against a highly thought of fighter. Cotto has a fight and is an Arum fighter, that means it is not an easy fight to make. Mosley would be a bigger fight then JMM, but he can still fight Mosley down the road, I honestly think that Floyd-Mosley is a god awful fight that will be terribly boring, I really do not see how Mosley can get at Floyd with the limits that he has been shown to have. If Floyd think that the Mosley fight can only end up as a stinker, there is no way he shoudl fight them in teh first fight of a comeback, considering how it would hamper his earning power (he can fight JMM look impressive, then if he can't get a fight with Pacman fight Mosley for more money then he would have, but if he fights Mosley and that fight sucks where can he really go from there?)

Floyd is already in my top 35 so........ (he is a second tier ATG, to me I break ATG into tiers teh top tier of 25 or so is the best of the best all can claim to be the greatest in some way, then 5 guys that are tweeners better then teh 2nd tier but not quite top tier, then a sceond tier that goes for about the next 50 guys these guys are all fairly close and can fall in any order), oh I don't include Heavies in my P4P list all time that would change how he would get ranked if I did.

Someone explain to be how The Ring WW Champion and WBC WW champion is TOO small to fight ANY WW in the division? That logic is incredibly ****** and anyone who follows it is not only a complete groupie, but a ****en imbecile.

By saying Floyd is "too small" for the WW divison is practically admitting that his run as the WW KING was a sham, a con, a label only worth the paper its printed on: in other words, Floyd was a paper champ and his accomplishments at WW should be considered as much as Sven Oktte's undefeated record.

Stop making excuses for Floyd. He doesn't need you to do that for him. He does it himself. You can stop cuffing his balls now.
Who deserved a shot at Floyd more

              Baldomir or Margarito.........Huh mexican?

Baldomir is one of the heaviest and strongest welter around...

If he's not a real Welter then I don't know what is.

Floyd fought the best Jr Middle but gets no cedit.

Tommy Hearns was a bigger guy than Ray Leonard, but Ray fought...and BEAT HIM...BY KO.
