I think it was just a ploy from him to assess his market value with the absence of his presence. Once he thinks he has more people talking about him (media/fans etc) he could come back to the bargaining table with the mental ammo of "hey boxing needs me, I sell out arenas, I'm undefeated." Unfortunately, it just deprives us boxing fans of good fights because the same negotiating table he uses to dictate terms to his benefit is the same table he uses to turn away BIG fights. All you Floyd fans don't get your panties in brunch this just an uneducated guess.

      Simple.
He went into hiding to avoid the top WW's(Cotto,Marg,Mosley).

Then came back to fight the
      lightweights.

      Truly, that's a B*TCH right there.

I think its pretty clear that PBF was chased out of the game and he waited for the opportune time to come back... Its the truth and cannot be disputed.

When SRL came back, he fought the middleweight kingpin.

When PBF came back, he's fighting an old super featherweight and still ducking the top WW's.
