I voted yes because JMM looked great in his past two fights.

Age does not necessarily determine a fighter's prime. Hatton is shot at age 30, then there's others like Hopkins who seem ageless.

I think too many people are making too much of JMM's age. Personally, I think he has gotten better. Sure, his legs may not be as steady as they were when they were younger, but his punching power has increased dramatically as an equalizer. I always thought Barrera was a better fighter in the late stage of his career than when he fought Junior Jones because he started using boxing skills he knew he had. It's funny though, because I think JMM has gotten better like Hopkins and Barrera did later in their careers but in a different way. Maybe I overstated B-Hop's case. But when you pay attention to his career he got hit less and less as he got older. JMM has been taking more punishment because of the desire to become more marketable, but at the same time that has served him well because the judges in his fights with Casamayor and Diaz could have screwed him over. I didn't agree with the judges' scores at the end of any of those fights.

he fought a 38 year old shot casamayor who almost got KTFO by katsidis.
Then he fought baby bull not a great fighter nor a strong puncher.

Roy jones looked great vs omar sheika, is he still prime?

He is one of a few fighters that get better with age. He has the go getter will that he was lacking before.

Joel Casamayor was 36 and not quite shot, just past prime. He had never been stopped before.

Juan Diaz had three lightweight titles in 2007, was naturally bigger and stronger, and had likewise never been stopped.

Those were very impressive wins for JMM. If he had beaten them by close decisions, they would have been less so.

He's a fight or 2 away from being "old". Win or lose against PBF he should still fight Pacman at some point. But thats almost about it if he wants a big payday because the youngsters coimng up will be looking for a gatekeeper and JMM is too much of a legend to be put on that level.
