  • Is Pavlik Ducking Abraham?

Pavlik is at a stage where he can insist on his next opponent. Boxing fans/writers have been clamoring for this fight for a while; especially since Abraham knocked out Miranda last year on Showtime. Abraham was mentioned by Arum more than a month back, but that tune has changed and they are mentioning Mora or Sturm in 09 and Froch at 168 in 10.

I'm on the fence still since things are playing out, but there is no indication Abraham will be next, if at all. If Pavlik moves up without unifying he's a huge duck in my book. Is Pavlik ducking or not yet?

Sturm bein a unification fight prevents me from sayin it's a duck just yet. After that, Pavlik better see AA at 160 or 168 if he wants to keep what's left of his cred.

See that's where you're wrong. Pavlik and his team have a lot of say in what should happen and who they are fighting next. Arum has to talk to Pavlik's manager and the manager always talks to their fighter before, during, and after a negotiation or offer. A fighter (especially one in Pavlik's position) 99% signs off on anything having to do with their career.

To be more accurate, Bob Arum is has been ducking Abraham.

The blame needs to fall on both guys' shoulders if you want my opinion. Arum seems afraid to put Pavlik in with Abraham, but that doesn't change the fact that Abraham keeps fighting **** opposition. Sometimes to get a big fight you've got to really look around. In fact, even if these guys don't fight each other, I'm sure that someone like Paul Williams or one of the top 168 lbers would be willing to take them on. And yet they seem content to keep fighting the Locketts, Rubios, Moras, Duddys, Orals, Simons, and Ikekes of the world. I actually have to give Pavlik a little bit of credit for expressing interest in fighting Froch. But doing and saying is two different things.

Like I told the poster above:

Kelly has been unified middleweight champ for a couple years now, Arum does not have the final say on Pavlik's fights. All Arum can do is set down his options. HBO would probably pay more for an Abraham fight than any other.

                    You're such a f*ggoty ass hypocrite.

You ride Floyd's ass DAYLY about what he's not doing and who he's not fighting...but you pull excuses from your gaping ******* for Pavlik's bum fighting, ducking ass.

Why love and excuses for Pavlik but nothing but hate for Floyd?

                    Hmmm

                    Oh that's right.
