Tickets went on sale Fri, May 22nd. Tomorrow makes 3 weeks. If this fight isnt at least half way sold out, there's problems.

Less than 1,000 Tickets? You got to be pretty gullible to believe that. The ringside ticket prices for this fight are way higher than they were for Pacquiao-Hatton. Too high. They will heat up when it comes time for 24/7 though.

remember what they did for Mayweather Hatton when they only made like a few thousand available for public consumption?

same thing with both DLH Mayweather and Hatton Pacquiao. What happens is an allotment is given to each promotoer who in turn turns them over to brokers so they can make money on them. Fighters are given some as well for the same purpose

now with all the fights above (with the exception of DLH Pac) there was a demand to them so they made a profit. Tickets werent available to the public since there were so few so those wanted in any had to go to brokers to get them

now fast forward to Dec 2008 and what they expected for Pacquio DLH turned out to be a huge disaster because the brokers ended up giving tickets back to the promoters and fighters because they werent selling. That is why you saw tickets the week of the fight for face value and hotels were including them in the packages for hotels

        same for Hatton Pacquiao

public sees that tickets are almost gone and think everyone has been buying them when in reality only what was release to the public has been sold and the others haven't. Heck with tickets available still through places like ticketmaster and the box office show how bad this is selling

week of the fight there will be tons of tickets flooding the market. A fringe person in boxing I know just got 4 free tickets to this fight and her company doesn't represent either fighter
co-sign... i expect this fight to have the same success at the gate as cassamayor vs. jmm

Mayweather, Marquez Invite Respective Presidents To Their July 18 Bout

LAS VEGAS (June 11, 2009) – Floyd Mayweather Jr. and Juan Manuel Marquez hope to unite the stately leaders the United States of America and Mexico by inviting their respective Presidents Barack ***** and Felipe de Jesús Calderón Hinojosa to their Saturday, July 18 Mayweather vs. Marquez: “Number One/Numero Uno,” mega-fight at the MGM Grand Arena in Las Vegas. The bout will be broadcast live on HBO Pay-Per-View® beginning at 9 p.m. ET/6 p.m. PT..

“It would be amazing to have President ***** ringside for my fight,” said Mayweather. “With all of these patriotic holidays coming up, and the fact that I met him when he was campaigning to become President, I wanted to extend an invitation to the fight as my congratulations for his knock-out victory.”

“President Calderon is a true statesman for our country and it would be an honor for me to have him come to the fight,” said Marquez. “Mayweather is the biggest challenge of my career and having my president there to witness my victory that night would be bigger than the victory itself.”

In addition to the Presidents, Mayweather has also invited Senator Harry Reid (D-Nev.), the Senate Majority Leader and a long-standing supporter and fan of the sweet science, to the fight. Reid also hosted Mayweather on Capitol Hill after the fighter’s triumph over Oscar de la Hoya in May 2007.
I bet the Mexican president attends, but ***** lols when he gets the invitation.

Mexico's president has wayy bigger things to do then attend a boxing match.
He's got his hands full right now, I don't think there's anyway he would attend.

This fight isnt of the magnitude for President ***** to attend. Isnt this just a "tune-up"?

Like i said/posted earlier there are still tickets for the Cotto/Clottey fight with only one day to go on ticketmaster, So with one month to go there would definitely be tickets for the Mayweather/JMM fight.

typical floyd ticket sales. it's not floyd it's who he's fighting, and sad to say, marquez has a decent following, but not enough to carry this, but it's early to really say one way or the other.

i'm sure ticket sales will go up, but i know who is going to buy the majority of them. it will be the casino's and the credit card companies.

the closer the fight gets the more action will show in the sales of the fight. but in all seriousness real fight fans know whats going on here, we all know how they play things out in the media, this and that.
