Banks vs Butlin On The Klitschko-Chagaev Undercard

Heavyweight Paul Butlin (12-9, 3KOs) will take on cruiserweight Johnathon Banks (20-1, 14KOs) on the undercard to Wladimir Klitschko-Ruslan Chagaev at the Veltins Arena in Gelsenkirchen, Germany. Butin had a lot of overseas press from his last fight, when UK hevayweight prospect Derek Chisora bit him on the ear during their 5/22 contest. Chrisora won an eight round decision but he was suspended for a few months in the aftermath. [details]

Why is a former champion in Banks not fighting a boxer of better calibre than Butlin?

He's coming back from a devastating KO loss, and this will be his first fight as a heavyweight.

Maybe, but this is still a very poor choice of opponent. Not anywhere near the standard of Banks.

I'm surprised he's fighting an opponent this inferior.his last fight he was knocked out but it was a good fight in the 8th round not a devastating first round knockout. It not like he got upset or anything.he was beat by the best cruiserweight.he should be fighting a much better opponent.
