I've said this many times, Clottey will beat Cotto. Clottey is too big and durable for Cotto. Cotto is a tremendous talent and has improved since going to 147. His style is more enjoyable to watch than Clottey, but Joshua Clottey has this, I know he is so hungry for this fight, more than Cotto. Cotto gets frustrated when he can't hurt his opponent and Clottey will frustrate Cotto, and Cotto will start to break, I just know this is going to happen.

I'm rooting for Clottey and I'm picking Clottey to win, I'm not too confident with Clottey, I believe it can go either way. Clottey is gonna have to try and pressure Cotto and look to land the uppercut. Also Clottey better pick up that workrate. Cotto, all he has to do is box but being as how this is at the MSG, he might want to put up a good show, this could be a toe to toe battle, I'm excited for this.

it depends on a couple of things...

can cotto apply constant pressure from round 1 to round 12? if he cannot, he will be beaten, possibly by KO late

              will Clottey's hands hold up?

can clottey take punishment constantly for twelve rounds?

are clottey and cotto distracted mentally by outside problems?

is the thought of a future fight with Billy Dib a factor...(what?)

last question aside, i think these are the key factors in this fight

Why do you think cotto needs to put pressure from 1-12 dude? Cotto is a better boxer and Clottey is not really that active of a boxer. So all Cotto needs to do is pick his spots and outwork clottey.

The question should be can Clottey put pressure to Cotto from 1-12? I dont think he can because that is not who he is. He is a defensive boxer that throws very little punches per round and is a counter puncher.

Cotto is faster. He should be smart enuf to know despite havin more power, he ain't knockin Clottey out. Clottey's built strong, and Cotto's body attack won't kill Clottey like it has others. If he stands and trades in close, he gets lit up. He's gotto throw fast flurries and outbox Clottey. Clottey got the style to beat Cotto if he got the stamina to match. That's been his problem in past fights. If he can come forward and throw all nite instead of stayin in his shell fightin in spots, he's got a UD. I think he can do it.

i guess what i meant by pressure is to continually throw and land shots. if he does this, it wont allow clottey to get punches off. clottey has sometimes put on as much as 20 pounds the day of the fight...would be murder for cotto if he lands some big shots
