Why did Shane Mosley never get the stardom that Floyd and Pac did?

Almost got laughed out of the house with the Forrest Pick. The second fight, I didn't get so much trash talk my way.

By the time of the Winky fight, my boys went with my pick of Winky.

I remember Max on FNF. I remember I think Brian Kenny said that it should be a good fight and Max said "I hope so, I hope Vernon can make a fight of it and not get blown out in 2 rounds but Mosley seems to be on a different level".

First of all many people including myself who saw that fight DID NOT feel shane won the fight. I felt oscar was robbed. You say "whats the point" that 3rd fight wouldnt have been some easy payday, shane didint win that second fight, that was a fight people cared to see. From a managment position fighting winky wright, a taller fighter with a superior jab and excellent defense would be just another vernon forrest. Why do that when you can fight the guy people felt you LOST against in the 2nd fight and clear the air? Yes it was foolish of him to do that, instead of taking on oscar, thats of course my opinion. The fight earned him little to no credibility, other than "well he fought winky" what the **** did that do for him in the end other than derail his career?

Good rebuttle...although the word "derail" is kind of harsh....especially considering Shane's resume....I would like to use the word..."speed bump".
Far as Winky...he's another B-Hop..no matter how you fight him..even a win is ugly...
Would you then say that Shane/DLH was like a prelude to Manny/Marquez? Needed to "clear the air"?

Its hard to say because the thing is, you cant make a case for oscar in the first fight, whereas in that 1st marquez fight you could. In the 2nd marquez fight, you could easily make a case that he won, basically the only thing seperating pac from marquez is 4 knockdowns, 3 of which took place in the 1st round of their 1st fight.

Oscar could move on without shane, and pac could move on without maruqez. However if mayweather were to beat both pac and marquez, a 3rd fight between them will be absolutely nessecary before they end their careers. Or if they beat mayweather, although i dont see that happening, i also didint see roy jones getting knocked out by tarver.

well the part time thing is probally what hurt oscar and he took alot more shots than they did..hopkins hasnt gotten much damage
