The losses TO ME, don't mean anything as to why he isn't a "superstar".....he fought two "bigger" champs...no shame in losing to them...and he rematched them almost immediately....no excuses, no ducking just dusted himself off and went at it against anyone who wanted / was willing to fight him. He just wasn't in any position to do better "negotiating" for his fights....after all...he is a fighter and not as business savvy as Uncle Oscar....After the dust settles...I would put Shane on my top 10 WWs of all time and on the top 50 fighters of all time....
Dude was ****** to fight winky wright, the vernon forrest fight was understandable, but winky wright over oscar a 3rd time? That was just ******, and it was his own desicion, a ****** one at that. Nobody cared to see it, it wasnt in demand and overall it damaged his road to stardom that he wouldnt really reach again until he fought vargas a 2nd time.

Could it of been that he followed those 2 wins by 4 losses, all to winky and vernon? Then the loss to cotto? If that is the case, than that sucks what happens when you dont avoid fighters. If he would have avoided winky and vernon, then people would give him ****.

Went toe-to-toe with a prime Cotto, in my eyes should've gotten a Draw from that fight. Last second KO of the Nicaraguan punching bag/clown Mayorga? Give him more credit than that Larry.....he is older than Oscar...more active and steady fighting younger, in their prime fighters....I can't speak on him calling out Pac though....everyone needs their payday I guess...

mosley came along at the wrong time.

            1) dlh ****** all the air out of the room from the american media.

            2) rjj ****** all the air out of the room from the black fanbase

            3) since mosley's losses, floyd ****** all the air out of the room from the black fanbase.

            4) mosley was too small for 154 lbs even tho he could KO some of them.

He beat Oscar twice, once on roids, so what was the point of a "rubber-match"....back in those days...he was fighting to WIN....not to get paid....a 3rd fight with Oscar, would've proven nothing....beat him twice, beat him a 3rd time....what? Easy payday? That's it....people wouldve given him **** for taking the "easy payday" when he should've fought other fighters. He stepped up to the plate against Winky....struck out twice. Although the 2nd fight was ALOT closer than the 1st fight....I give him props for stepping up and challenging himself...and putting HIS belts up.....don't call it ******....

People make it sound like Winky & Vernon were monsters that everyone was scared of and it was supposed to be these super fights. Its not true. I picked both guys to beat Mosley but hardly anyone else did. Most thought that Forrest was a fraud that hadnt fought anyone up until that point and Winky was seen as just a solid guy but not on Mosley's level. Shane didnt jump at these fights either. He tried so hard to leave WW without fighting Forrest but no big name at 154 would fight him so he had to fight Vernon. It was the same for the Winky fight. He was coming off a bunch of losses and subpar performances. He couldnt get the big fights so he had to fight Winky. He looked like crap against both Marquez and was average looking against Oscar in the rematch. He also lost pretty easy to both guys. Its not enough to fight the best but you also have to do somewhat well. He didnt. Even though he was close in the rematches, the fights were never in doubt. The scores were much closer then the fights seemed. He never had a chance in either. Then you have Mayorga straight punking Forrest which made the loss like even worst
                  I did!!!

Almost got laughed out of the house with the Forrest Pick. The second fight, I didn't get so much trash talk my way.

By the time of the Winky fight, my boys went with my pick of Winky.

First of all many people including myself who saw that fight DID NOT feel shane won the fight. I felt oscar was robbed. You say "whats the point" that 3rd fight wouldnt have been some easy payday, shane didint win that second fight, that was a fight people cared to see. From a managment position fighting winky wright, a taller fighter with a superior jab and excellent defense would be just another vernon forrest. Why do that when you can fight the guy people felt you LOST against in the 2nd fight and clear the air? Yes it was foolish of him to do that, instead of taking on oscar, thats of course my opinion. The fight earned him little to no credibility, other than "well he fought winky" what the **** did that do for him in the end other than derail his career?
