Bro, mayaguez is what I call the "Country" side of P.R, same goes for Aibonito....I'm talking about: Bayamon,Caguas,Loiza,San Juan ( La Perla).....do you know the murder rate on P.R. for such small island.....by the way this article is wrong P.R. is 100 X 35!......Have you seen the "caserios" and the unemployment rate? have you seen the "tecatos" (Drug Addicts) on every traffic light? Dude thrust me Ricans Know about how hard lives is.....We were drafted for Vietnam.....We have paid for our way of life.....I'm a proud G.I. and on the service had the opportunity to meet a hole bunch of mexicans, one of them (J.C. Mascorro) became my best friend....I'm the god father of his baby boy and we laugh every time people start with the hole rivalry stuff, is silly when you really think about....but don't even try to tell me that we don't know BAD because we do! As far living on Orlando...I live there 3 years and truth to be told NOT EVEN ONCE I heard anyone bashing any Cubans or vice verse....maybe you just nick picking, how knows? Now if you read the hole post...this is really calling a spade a spade!
Actually, I have been to La Perla, hung out with Bobbito (he's a famous DJ from NY and PR) been all over PR, great place and the women are as beautiful as they get in the entire world.
I know the violence that exists in PR, I'm talking about more the poverty that exists in the 3rd world, something Puertoricans don't understand the way Mexicans, Cubans and other people from those 3rd world countries live through every day. Don't take it personal man, I have nothing against anyone I'm just speaking from experience..Comment

*sigh* This is sick man. I thought you were different from alot of posters on this site but I guess I was wrong. Your wife is Puerto rican, your own little girl is half puerto rican and yet you think Mexicans are inherently better than your wife and your daughter? More humble? Huh?
I don't know what your point is but to suffice to say it was dumb post. I hope for your wife and your daughters sake, your frame of mind around people other than your own changes. Especially when your own blood is involved.
Mexicans and PR are both equal. Why is it so hard to say neither is better than the other and never will be? Neither are whites, blacks, hispanics, asians yadda yadda yadda. Thats it. Thats all you need to say.
Yet to follow it up with your "experiences" around different sets of people shows your ignorance. The fact that weird prejudicial views and xenophobia will seep in even when family is involved? Unreal.
I thought we were having a real discussion and now you want to get your feelings hurt, it's not like that.
Let me ask you a question and be honest here, let's cut the BS. You mean to tell me you don't find Puertoricans "louder" than Mexicans? Seriously? Have you ever been to a Puerto Rico day parade in NYC? I have never seen a Cinco de Mayo or 16th of Septiembre celebration be as loud as that, it's just different culture man.
I love my daughter, love her family and never once have talked bad about her PR side. To be honest with you, if anything it's been her family that has discriminated against me. For about 7 years her grandmother reffered to me as "El Mexicano" until one day I told her, my name is......and to please call by that from now on. I didn't do anything before out of respect...
I had one of her female cousines, go off on me about being Mexican and even called me a "dirty Mexican", no BS. I wasn't very liked because of the way I looked as you can see. She insulted Mexico, the culture and the people, it was embarassing for her because my baby's mother had to step in and calm her down.
It's all good man, I love everyone, black, white, yellow, red I don't care. **** my wife now is an Indian Trini......
I'm just kickin real ****.....Comment

Well i feel very proud of my island for all his acomplishments. Its good that international experts show respect to us. And people we live in the 21 century, ok? we supose to be smart people and have let in the past the racism. Hopefully this will fuel the interest of the sport in other countries and we can have better representation from all around the world. And to my Mex friends i support the Mexican soccer team as as long as we dont have one. Go TRI !!!!!Comment

Yes it was, but how many times do you guys have to brag about it?? Maybe you and other posters may give it props, but common, you know damn well there will be fanatic PR fans that would mention anything to discredit.
I don't need a bottle, on the contrary, it should be you Cotto fans.
**** I would be proud too if my little island produced that much talent

I know it's going to sound bad but I can say that for the most part. Like I said, I think it has to do with the history of Mexico and the way people have struggled in that nations history. Something PR has never gone through.
Yes many times, been to San Juan, Mayaguez where my ex is from and to Aibonito (sp?) to see the festival of flores....
My daughter is 1/2 PR.
Well, then answer me this. I live in Miami and everyone of the Cubans that I have dealt with have never had one negative thing to say about PR's....ever. Yet when I lived in Central Florida, there were nothing but PR's and all they did was bad mouth Cubans, Mexicans, etc....Sorry but it's true. I find that funny since almost all of PR culture comes from Cuba in one way or the other. The flag, food, music, dance etc.
I don't have a problem with anyone, I really don't but I have to call a spade a spade on this one.Comment
