I cant imagine a single ppv fan not buying a Pacquiao fight or Fraud jr, mosley, & cotto not wanting to fight Pacquiao because he didnt personally attend the fighter of the year ceremonies.
I'm not talking about that. I'm talking about publicity. if pac doesn't show up for CBS early show or do the TIME mag spread, thats ******. showing up for CBS is a huge deal adding onto his legend and legacy, and leverage against future opponents in negotiations.

like I said before, his "job" now goes beyond just training in the gym and promotion for the fight. he's a super star now. if he's made commitments he's obligated to show up.

      I don't think is Pacquiao.

I think his people around him and the adviser are getting full of it.

This is a near future could messed up Manny's reputation.

i agree he needs to show up & it would be the right move to do the time mag spread & cbs show but his career wont be ruined or tainted in anyway if he skipped the trip.

1# boxer who also happens to be the 1# star of the sport wont be & should not be killed publicly for skipping a awards ceremony. Its not as if he's getting inducted to the HOF.

but like i said, he needs to show up & do these things. He's the one that said "with big power comes big responsiblity", so he needs to step up & claim it.

I don't care one way or the other if he goes to that dinner...the guy always shows up to FIGHT, so lets cut him a little slack. I don't think people in the states grasp how popular he is in the Phillipines. The guy can't go ANYWHERE without people mobbing him and asking for one thing or another. He trains hard, fights hard, always hangs around for even the last fan - let the guy enjoy his family in peace and quiet.

I'm a die hard PACQUIAO fan but he needs to stop with this drama bull**** from promoter disputes, contract with television dispute, now trying to skip an award that is highly coveted in boxing. Not to mention, the amount of gratituted that he owes the media. If his plan for not going is because of his family matter. I believe that family comes first, but if it wasn't for the media, his promoters and his fans...he would still be selling stolen cigarettes wearing two different colors of slippers. That family vacation is always gonna be there, he owes it to the fans and the media to be there to accept the award. Some here says that its just an award. When your in the spotlight you have to accept everything that comes with it. I've defended PACQUIAO on so many different occasions, but this is one situation that he is even pissing me off.

You know what your a fool. I am a filipino and a die hard fans, but being popular in the Philippines didn't make him the millions that he makes today. Who gives a flying **** if he is getting mob. I respect his hard work, dedication and pride, but his bonehead decision is not only giving him a bad name. He is also making filipinos look like they have no sense of moral obligations. He doesn't need no slacks, being in the spotlight comes with the territory. He will have plenty of time to spend with his family, when he retires. Besides what else does he do when he is not fighting. Maybe he can lessen some of his television exposure in the Philippines and spend time with his family then, bottomline is the money he is making is from the states not in the philippines.
