In a way the Moore win kinda looks as though Duran's decision to fight at 154 was vindicated, however i disagree, he was never a 154 pound fighter.

Duran had a hard grueling CLOSE fight with Nino Gonzalez and he did not look to hot against Luigi Minchillo early on either, and both Benitez,Laing outfoxed him.

This was a disgusting night of incompetence by the NYSAC.

They failed to notice the fact that those dirtbags Luis Resto and Panama Lewis loaded their gloves, removing the padding and putting Plaster of Paris.

Then on the main event, the ref lets the fight go on way too long and the fight finally gets stopped when Jose Torres yells for it to be stopped. Disgraceful job by the ref and Moore's corner failed him as well.

this is what made the fight remarkable, i think duran sometimes fought to his competition once he hit 154. I think he had to show something to not just the fans and media, but to himself. when he actually dedicated himself to the sport, even outmatch in all intagible forms, he still had it in him to pull one out.

Yeah, that was the fight that he redeemed himself in the eyes of the public. That was a vicious beating.
