No matter how much you want it, Paul is not a welter.

Note To Readers: This topic has nothing to do with Shane Mosley, or any other welter.

On Topic: I keep hearing folks say, "Paul Williams this, and Paul Williams that at 147...Do some of you cats not realize it has been over a year now(maybe longer) since he fought at 147?

Sure he(Paul) says he can still make the weight, but that is easier said than done. Plus, if he does make the weight, what would that do to his body at the time of fight night?

I think some of you Paul Williams fans need to get over the fact that he didn't fight some fighters at 147. I don't see Williams going back to 147 anytime soon...If ever.

Please stop talking like he is a welter, he is not! Hasn't been for a while now. Some talk like he just fought last week at welter.

Please go look up when the CQ rematch was, then maybe reality will set in.

yea he's not a ww anymore. remember before the winky fight they showed him eating ribbs. they were talkin about him puttin on weight so he can get used to being a mw. he aint coming back to ww, if he does he would have to drain himself too much and he will be weak and ineffective. guys like mosley, cotto, clottey would beat him.

He can make 147, but nobody wants to fight him.

He's not tied down to a specific weight-class, he says he can make 147 and will go back down if the right fight becomes available

                154 should be his division

Between fights, he walks around at 150lb, which is lighter than Cotto or Mosley or Clottey. He actually has to put on weight during training in order to fight at higher weights. His last Welterweight fight was exactly a year ago; and he tried to make a fight with Clottey last Autumn but HBO killed it, then he tried to make a fight with Margarito this January but Marg turned it down to fight Mosley for a lot less money; then he tried to make a fight with Mosley but Mosley turned it down because, he said, "Williams is too tall".

If he can make Welterweight, then he's a Welterweight, and if he says he can, he can, until someone is willing to call his bluff and prove him wrong in the ring. And anyone who says that so and so shouldn't fight him because he isn't a Welterweight is just a nuthugger for "so and so".
