No matter how much you want it, Paul is not a welter.

Sure he(Paul) says he can still make the weight, but that is easier said than done. Plus, if he does make the weight, what would that do to his body at the time of fight night?

I think some of you Paul Williams fans need to get over the fact that he didn't fight some fighters at 147. I don't see Williams going back to 147 anytime soon...If ever.

Please stop talking like he is a welter, he is not! Hasn't been for a while now. Some talk like he just fought last week at welter.

Please go look up when the CQ rematch was, then maybe reality will set in.
I agree he's not a welter anymore. But that's because Arum and Golden Boy have blackballed him out of the division. Not because he can't make the weight. And he deserves his shot too. He already has victories over Margarito (the version with potentially loaded gloves, unlike what Mosley beat) and Winky Wright.

He can make WW, and Dave's post above is pretty weight there, if you'll excuse the pun.

The Ring also intend on ranking him quickly at WW if he plans a fight there.

So there's not really much to row about here.

The question is whose man enough to fight him.

He's tall but not all that heavy at the weight which has it's pro's and cons.

Someone fight him at WW, cos he already beat Marg.

That's a really ridiculous comparison. Williams has spent the last year trying to get fights with top Welterweights, but none of them want to fight him.

The problem Williams has is he's a very dangerous fighter who can't draw for ****. Cotto will fight him at some stage though if they both stay on track.

Dzinziruk has been calling Williams out so I don't know why he's not shown interest in that fight.

In the case of Clottey, HBO would have financed it but refused to. He's tied to HBO. Marg was offered a $4 million guarantee to fight him, but fought Mosley for $2.3 million instead. Mosley didn't let it get to the offers stage - as soon as Williams asked him for a fight, he said he would never fight him because "Williams is too tall". Haven't you been following boxing for the last year?
