Agree wit the BOLD, dont remember the second low blow though, even though it did seem like a low blow but didnt focus on the head pull, but the first one really wasnt a low one.

He's not horrible. Gets a little too involved in the fight sometimes.

[QUOTE=chicano79us;5453421] So Cotto could get away with every low blow??[/QUOTE

Or have a wet spot on the canvass wiped up for him if Cotto gets his ass rocked like what happened in the Mosley fight. Benji Esteves is a garbage refree for not only that, but I also didn't like of how he reffed the Pavlik-Hopkins fight. He took a point away from Pavlik and that was justifiable because of Pavlik's continuous rabbit punching but he took a point away from Hopkins also when both guys were in a clinch and that was uncalled for. Harold Letterman even raised a big fuss about that too and understandably so. And I don't want to bring up race regarding the Cotto-Mosley fight, but don't you think it's kind of funny that he saved Cotto's ass in that tenth round with that timeout to wipe the canvass up after Cotto got hurt by a right hand and backed into a corner?

but for real....professional or not....if u get hit in the balls..u need time to recover...most refs quickly say "you got 5mins".

and in the corner when he was about to say something to judah....he squeezed the mic to avoid the audio from being recorded.......i think merchant touched on that.
Great point...I was at the Cotto-Judah fight and I don't care for Mercante Jr at all - it always appears the fight is about him - it's like a good umpire in a baseball game...a great referee doesn't draw attention away from the action/fighters. I guess it's better than Nady - that dude really sucks!

          Smoger is the man!

What I think its funny is that Shane was the one responsible for the break in the action, not Cotto.

Mosley went on the attack and slipped on a wet spot in the corner. Shane immediately stopped in his tracks and motioned the referee towards the wet spot.

The break in action was initiated by Shane, which tells me he didn't believe Cotto was "hurt." If he had, I highly doubt he would have been concerned about a wet spot on the canvas.

Everybody is entitled to their opinion. I think Mosley may have glanced at it and raised his head back up. I don't think he said anything about it. Let me ask everybody this. What do you think could've happened to Cotto if that wet spot wasn't there? Don't act like Cotto didn't just get rocked with a big punch before that incident.

Good Gif...I never really looked at that part..It was clearly initiated by Shane who also backed off..And i dunno Cotto didnt appear to be hurt or in any danger...But i guess everyone sees somethign differents so.

When you're looking at plain evidence that's not opinion, it's fact.

Cotto got hit with a big punch no doubt, but he was not hurt, he had his legs under him fine, and Mosley slipped, than looked at the ref and pointed. It's as clear as day.
