Is Cotto more popular in NYC than Tito?

I'd say that Tito still has the edge

Cotto needs that 'moment' to eclipse Tito. He needs the Oscar/Tito type of fight, and the only two that can present that 'moment' fight is Margarito and Mayweather.

Margarito for obvious reasons, and Mayweather, because he's simply the best there is.

Plus Tito was more of a people's champ. Cotto is more quiet and reserved. He enjoys his privacy more than Tito did/does. But the Cotto fan appreciation was good. He's a God in NYC.

Tito, Cotto is not there yet. Cotto receive a lot of hype because of the internet and ****, but Tito was way more accessible and still being more beloved than Cotto.

I don't think so, Tito's popularity at his best was unreal. Maybe more people attends Cotto's fights and maybe more people know who he is in NY but that doesn't make him more popular, Trinidad's fans were incredibly passionate and hardcore back in the day.

If you said "YES", then its obvious you dont live in NY... Cotto is popular in NYC because he is Puerto Rican and theres probably a million PRs spread throught the boroughs but Tito was a supurstar here amongst his people.

Tito is not only popular in PR but across the world. Tito is an icon in PR and Cotto can't compete with him.

This isn't even close, can't understand why people are voting for Cotto. Cotto isn't nearly as talk about as Tito was. I was in HS when Tito came back and remember how everyone talked about how Tito destroyed Mayorga. Cotto doesn't have much of a personality, ofcourse we know that but I think avenging his lose to Margarito would do him alot of good.

I was born close enough to Puerto Rico,to say Trinidad was loved by many,but on the skill level,Cotto outshines Trinidad,because,frankly if u stick a jab in Tito's face he's done!!!So Cotto gets more respect for his overall skill,but Trinidad is Rico's Icon of power!!!!
