Although I will say it is fair play if you can make 147 (or any weight) and balloon up because that stuff catches up with most fighters.
I agree. if you can make weight then its okay.

that said, ideally, a boxer should at max only gain 5 lbs on fight night.

The people who are trying to suddenly raise the fight night weigh in argument are Floyd fans trying to swing an argument in Floyd's favor.

Many of those same people were in here calling Hopkins one of the best ever after he beat Pavlik, while outweighing Pavlik by almost 15lbs on fight night.

        Double Standards.

Hopkins outweighed Pavlik by 6 lbs.

Please leave floyd fans out of my thread, this thread is related to all the catchweights that we have going on at the moment, i want really discussions and opinion on how it could be better not another thread turn into a *****/stans attack.

If you can keep a proper discussion going please contribute if not let me add you to the ignore list just for this thread.

It had nothing to do with a Floyd attack. It had everything to do with the underlying reason why these discussions are happening in the first place. The catchweights are there mainly because in the search for megafights and this current age of weight class hopping.

I will stay out of your thread as you requested. I also sent you a PM Great A.

Which one do you agree with more the fighters weight at the weigh in or the fighters weight on fight night???
The rules are what they are. There were reasons for them being changed so it is what it is.

I'm not sure I get the point of this thread though. You're saying that the fightnight weight is more significant. My question is: Significant to what? To the rules they are insignificant that's for sure.

Is the thread about the best weigh-in procedure?

Good question Nelson, I think (Just my opinion) that fight night weight are more significant because thats the weight the fighter/opponent weigh in the ring. If am fighting a 140 who weigh in at 155 i wouldnt feeling like am fighting a 140 imo, I would feel like am fighting a light-middleweight.

There should be a limit of what a fighter can rehydrate to if they cant do a sameday weigh in.

Anyone is welcome to stay, I just cant take anymore threads been hijacked and turned into a floyd thread or one about his *****s or stans, Have personally had enough of those on boxingscene.

I want to discuss boxing like adults without anyone thinking its a way to glorify floyd or his stans.
