Your "thinking" is based on nothing.

He didnt get knocked out until he had 50 fights and dropped down from heavyweight.

            I saw it son.

            1st round.

            Legit Heavweight.

            Ruiz.

            With Power.

Lands 2 flush right hands right on Roy.

Roy takes a step back and fires right back.

            He drops down 20 lbs.

            2 LHW's KO him.

I've been saying the same thing all along. Don't get me wrong, the guy is a good fighter. But to me he isn't elite. He's definitely tougher than Michael Jennings and Alfonso Gomez, I'll give him that. But if this guy was elite he would have stopped Corrales. He was close to it toward the end, but his power is not world class. He also showed a lack of mental toughness in his fight with Margarito by using a hand injury as an excuse to not continue the punching clinic he was administering. Examples of guys sticking it out to the end with hand problems are Mayweather and Gatti, and Clottey showed me a softness. The best victories on his resume are Zab Judah and Chico Corrales. I need to see him beat some other guys before I say he is elite. A victory over Cotto is a good place to start though. And I'm also not gonna pump Cotto up to god-like proportions if he wins this fight, because to me it's expected.
