American fight fans does it bother you that..........there has been a decline in Boxing in the United States ?

I believe the standard of Boxing has dropped since the decline of American Boxing, but by the same token its great having so many different fighters/fans from other countries participating.

This is not a bait thread im just interested to hear your views.

Do you think the sport is better now that its become a more global sport with Germany,Britain,Cuba,PR etc stepping up their game.

Do you wish American Boxing would pick up a bit or aren't you particularly that bothered if they are American as long as the sport is producing good fighters ?

I'd expect a post structured like this talking about an American sport such as Baseball or Basketball.

Not really. The media makes too much out of it.

It'd probably bother me more if less big fights took place in the US, especially Vegas, because I'm not gonna travel overseas to watch a fight. I give credit to Hatton supporters for doing that.

At various points throughout the 1970s, there was a pretty low percentage of champions from the US. People just paid less attention apparently because the HW division was dominated by Americans, but most of the other champs weren't from the States.

I don't care about the sport's popularity in the USA. If the US ever stopped putting out world champion fighters, I'd have major qualms with that.
