Pacquiao's Adviser Says "Mosley at 144 is Too Much"

The Marquez fight is a tune-up after a 2 year break, it's not a legacy fight. If Floyd doesn't think he can get below 144 without being weight drained, then he shouldn't try. There are too many weight classes in boxing as it is, these catchweight fights are getting ridiculous, and boxing doesn't need another fight in which one fighter is weight drained.
You could validly say that Floyd should fight a Welterweight like Berto for his tune-up, rather than Marquez, but Marquez wouldn't thank you for saying that, because he sees this fight as his big chance. So giving him a shot wasn't a ***** move at all, because the alternative was to give someone else a shot instead, and that would have been very bad news from Marquez's point of view.
And I think Marquez will surprise people and make it more competitive than most people expect. He has the heart of a lion, and is more skilful than anyone Floyd has faced for a long time.
By contrast, Pac-Mosley would be (in theory, anyway) a legacy fight. Trying to force Mosley to come into the fight weight drained is worse than just a ***** move, it makes a complete travesty of boxing. It's nothing short of disgusting. But I hope Mosley and Cotto both stand their ground. If they do, Pac won't have many options, because Mayweather also won't fight him below 144.
I don't blame Pac, so much as his advisers, though.Comment

If you don't want to fight welterweights at welterweight, then stay the hell out of the class. This is absurd. How is Mosley going to make 142? Cut off some toes? This whole BS about who 'wants' the fight is just that. Pac needs to say plainly whether he wants to compete at welter (which he should not because he will get his ass kicked bad by a fresh welter badly sooner rather than later).
If he says he doesn't, go fight the winner of Bradley-Campbell or just wait for May and move on from this dumb conversation.Comment

I knew it. This verifies it. Pacquiao likes the perception of belief that he can beat true 147 fighters, but it's an obvious fabrication. Mosley would knock his little ass into next week and he knows it. Pacquiao should simply state look, I realize what I have done is remarkable but I'm not a 147 fighter and I never will be. That would be tremendously more acceptable and respectable than maintaining this facade that the mighty mouse can take out much larger fighters who will illustrate the meaning of beatdown to Pacquiao without breaking a sweat. Cotto, Mosley, and Mayweather(who I cannot stand personally) will beat Pacquiao decisively. He's reached his plateau and will be summarily dismissed reaching for the lofty Mt Olympus goals. It's called Zeus *****. He's waiting and will thunderbolt your ass back to reality.Comment

bottom line, Pac's advisers are scared that mosley will be to much for him so they want him drained.Comment

But why a lightweight in Marquez who clearly was being dominated at first against Diaz at lightweight. Why not Berto or maybe a LWW. I see it more of Floyd trying to out do Pac by beating Marquez decisively but seriously Mayweather is suppose to win anyways. So whats there to prove?Comment
