Quite CLEARLY out of his prime. That's not to take anything away from Marquez though - Barrera just gave a VERY good account of himself.
Was Barrera out of his prime when he fought Marquez?

Yeah, I've gotta admit that even though I'm a big JMM fan it's hard for me to envision him beating a prime Barrera after seeing the fight in the faded stage of Barrera's career. I had Barrera winning the fight by a slight margin. It's too bad that Barrera is too past it now for anyone to be interested in a rematch. I know JMM was willing to give him one, but Barrera wanted to cash out with that big payday against Pacquiao plus he felt the judges ripped him off against Marquez and understandably so. A rematch may have made some people curious if Barrera was able to beat Khan, but we know that didn't happen. The cut over Barrera's head had a lot do with that though.Comment

They cheated a past it barrera, Khan only started to look great when blood was running down into barreras eye and his brain was basically sticking out of his head. That fight was a disgrace to boxing.Comment
