Hopkins has been pretty much proven to be bad for people's careers. I don't know why, but almost every big fighter he fought went downhill after righting him. Watch it continue with Froch if they fight.

He retired because he got the **** beat out of him by hopkins and it was probably a big embarrassment to him, being that he was a 7-1 favorite. he thought he was invincible and got schooled from the opening bell to the moment his back hit the canvas and his papi through in the towel.

Losses like that can be mentally devastating. Look at Lacy against Calzaghe, etc. etc. etc.

That's what separates the good fighters from the all time greats. The latter will always rise from defeat.
