    What Happened to Trinidad?

After his fight with Hopkins ruining his unblemished record he just kinda sailed off with the wind. Then makes a comeback and never seems the same...

He isnt retired but he aint makin big news in the boxing world and is only 36.

Why did he retire after Hopkins? Whats up with him some say he is LAZY and FAT and when he was around they say he had the biggest pride of all fighters? I heard some rumours he was heavy into ******* but I cannot confirm if its true but I heard that....

He retired because he got the **** beat out of him by hopkins and it was probably a big embarrassment to him, being that he was a 7-1 favorite. he thought he was invincible and got schooled from the opening bell to the moment his back hit the canvas and his papi through in the towel.

Losses like that can be mentally devastating. Look at Lacy against Calzaghe, etc. etc. etc.

That's what separates the good fighters from the all time greats. The latter will always rise from defeat.

once he lost we found out that he wasnt much more then a hard puncher. when you fight guys as good as hopkins and wright, you need a gameplan and need to adjust as the fights go on. felix didnt have the boxing abilities, he had the punching power but thats it.

Watching that fight w/ Hopkins Trinidad looks ALOT smaller than Hopkins and looked like he had no business with fighters at that weight. I think he should of stayed a welterweight, he wasnt strong enough to take on middleweights

The thing that was impressive about this win is hopkins beat him by boxing him. He didn't out muscle him or use physical power to beat trinidad, he boxed and out-smarted him from the bigging to the end. And Trinidad was fine at 160, he looked fantastic prior to hopkins and was a middleweight champion. IMO, if hopkins wasn't in the picture, Trinidad would have been the unified middleweight champ, no one at 160 was touching him, except maybe winky eventually, but that's no guarantee either, who knows how trinidad would have looked if he never lost to bhop and didn't have a long layoff.

And don't forget history. Felix trinidad's plan was to win the middleweight championship tournament to unify all belts (Hopkins, Keith Holmes, Joppy, Trinidad) and after he won that he was to fight Roy Jones at 168. Don King was already it talks with Jones and it was agreed upon they would fighter after he beats hopkins! It was supposed to be easy, especially after how badly he beat Joppy, which is why he was a 7-1 favorite to beat hopkins.
