there's a rumor that ea might put back the face buttons. they have gotten a lot of complaints about making it analog only.

To all the high & mighty analog users who complain about the "button smashers"; if your so good then it shouldnt be a problem then.

They also did not do a good job at making fighters look like themselves. Pacman looks like a member of Menudo...if you have a ps3 you can dwnld the demo at the PS store for free. Check it out for yourself, not impressed
once EA said that they took the buttons off i canceled my pre-order. **** the analog stick

ive had all the fight night games & have never used analog until the demo forced me to learn. ive actually got no complaints about the analog now but i can see why a lot of people were pissed. i was one of those until i learned how to play with analog.

Now im knocking out ricky hatton on a regular basis in the demo.

Just an update... I tried this and quickly went back to the default controls. Even though it says Classic Total Punch Controls, it was very ****ty and unresponsive. I never lost a round until I tried these controls and my fighter simply wouldn't punch. It feels nothing like Fight Night Round 3, so I don't recommend changing from the new TPC.

On another note, what do I have to do to knock a guy down? I'm completely outclassing the competition and I'm barely getting hit, but it seems like no matter what I hit the other character with, he won't fall. Do you just have to head hunt the whole time or what? Are haymakers the ticket? This is still a day one purchase for me...

I played it for a while and I thought it was a lot of fun. Punches dont seem to do much damage though... but thats really my only problem with it. I cant wait for the full thing
I think that's my favorite improvement in the game. Punches are not supposed to do much damage unless they land flush. And there's nothing as satisfying as landing a bomb to knock the other guy down in 1 hit.

I'm actually finding it too easy to knock Hatton down and out. What you do is start boxing at a slow pace, and set up hurtfull counters that stun your opponents, when you have him in trouble MIX up your punches throw combinations to the body and head mix it up, this way the computer wont know what to guard and you should be able to get kncckdowns, also if you hurt your opponents you get a sudden stamianboost, so you can try to break through their guard, this way they wont be able to block your punches, and you will eb able to knock them down or out easily.

Buttons wont work well for the new FNR4 system. You want to have a broken fight system? Go play FNR3.

FNR4 is the ****. I think I pretty much got everything down. The problem I have though, is that they added that new punch control where all you do is push; right stick left and it does an automatic hook. It fucks up my combos when I want to throw a left uppercut(with pacquiao). Instead of a left uppercut he will throw a hook and ****s up everything and I get countered.

Another issue I noticed is that they didn't completely remove that lag time with punches being batted out the air. I swear, I got parried and my arm stayed down for a noticeable amount of time. It happened a couple of time and I was just sitting there like "Wtf?! Weave!"
