    • I agree that MOsley should stay and fight those on WW natural weights, but i don't agree with Gosseen and ODLH optimism that Moseley would crush Pacman at catchweight. ODLH knows this very well and Gosseen might just bitter not having Moseley landed on his fighter. I believe that so far no one could defeat PAcman from JWW to 144lbs even PBF would vow to the P4P king!

      • shane would be forced to accept goossen's challenge. all superwelterweights are afraid to fight paul. margarito wets his pants just hearing paul's name. that is why he is ducking paul all his life. but mosley is a warrior. he's the antidote to pw.

That could be something that Mosley is thinking about on top of not being confident enough to be able to beat him in the first place. But Mosley is toward the end of his career as I mentioned before, and it would be over for him if he lost another fight more than likely.
I agree with some points you made. But I don't agree with you saying that Mosley just views it as a fight with no upside if he won. If Mosley could beat Williams that would really be the biggest win of his career. That would put him so much higher. This doesn't sound like a boxing website, I'm tired of all of these guys making excuses for why there favorite fighter shouldn't fight Williams because they don't want to admit the beatdown they would get. Everybody talks about big fights. They don't even know what that means. There is no bigger fight for Shane other then Williams. Was ray leonard afraid to fight Hearns? No! Was Floyd Mayweather afraid to fight Diego Corrales..NO! Shane don't have the heart step in the ring with Williams because he knows he will get a worse beat down then the one he got when he fought Forrest. You guys make it seem as though Williams has no value but who the hell has Pavlik beaten? Williams tried to make that fight as well but Pavlik will get schooled again even worse this time. Don't discredit Williams just to make yourself happy that he's not fighting your favorite scary as fighter.

I agree, he is a hypocrit with his steroid taking ass. Mayweather Jr, said that Shane is not a draw but yet Mosley wants to dodge Williams and say he only wants big fights. Mosley is just a liar. He lied about taking steroids, saying he didn't know what he was taking. Bull****! But I do also have a problem with this catchweight stuff. If you can't make a certain weight then why even talk about it. If Manny can't fight at welter then don't talk about it. That is not proving that you are a great fighter by having a fighter come down in weight to fight you especially when you know he would be weak. But to show you that Manny is just like the rest of these clowns. If Williams agreed to fight Manny at 144. Manny would have a heartattack because he know he would get killed. He would use the old looking for bigger fights also. The only guys that would step up and fight anyone is Clottey & Cotto

              • Here's the bottom line to the whole situation. Shane is on another level than Williams.Does that mean he can beat him? Hell no. But Shane is on the downside of his career. So why would he want to fight an up and coming lion like Williams when the big money is to fight Mayweather or Pacman? Those 2 fights would be much more anticipated and more exciting as well. In a perfect world and if boxing ever wanted to get its credability back, all these guys would fight each other. In the end, no one loses. They all get big pay days and the fans get treated to great events.

If you've read all the pages in this thread you will see that I've probably made about 10 posts saying how deserving Paul Williams is of a big fight. And you really implied what I brought up in my post you're replying to. Mosley may view this fight as one he stands little chance of winning. But it is a little unfair to Mosley to say he will catch a brutal beat down in this fight. You have to give each guy a little bit of a chance if the fight get signed. The weight drain factor may come into play for Williams if this fight happens. And Mosley is a true pro that will put up a fight before he lets someone totally dominate him in the ring.

                    • Does anyone think it's hypocritical for Oscar De La Hoya and Richard Schaeffer to use the the Paul Williams excuse to not give Margarito a payday with Oscar when he was considered the #1 welter, but when the tables are turned they are probably trying to get Shane to avoid him as well?
