During the last two weeks, WBA welterweight champion "Sugar" Shane Mosley has been aggressively pursuing fights with Manny Pacquiao and Floyd Mayweather Jr. Also during this time, Paul "The Punisher" Williams, has been trying to get Mosley in the ring. Williams' promoter Dan Goossen became upset when he made his daily run to BoxingScene.com and saw a particular news brief that caught his attention very quickly. [details]

Negative sir!!,Mosley has had his wars,I think the man deserves to fight any one else but the Punisher,The Punisher is a beast and every 147 has got the right to head for the hills in the presence of such a monster!!!If unless they claim to be the greatest fighter ever, then u should prove it!!!

I want to see this fight to be honest. I respect Goosen and Williams for being up front about this. The only thing that I slightly fault them for is not coming up with an exact offer of the dollar amount that they are willing to provide for Shane. They offered 4 million to Margarito and there offer was ignored and they had a good argument there about being avoided. The good thing about this fight is that it would crown a Ring Champ at 147. I've mentioned this on a bunch of other threads, but Ring has the intention of automatically ranking Paul at 147 if he schedules a fight there. A Pacquiao-Mosley fight is a bull**** fight when you stop to think about it. It brings no weight division clarity. I can't blame Mosley for not wanting that payday, but he needs to accept the fact that Manny is never gonna fight him. The only gripe I have about a Williams-Mosley fight is that if Shane beat him at 147 people may come up with the weight drain excuse for Paul. But that doesn't mean that any other fight makes sense for Shane. This is the right fight for boxing.

Paul is a beast, let me say that first. But his resume is not that great. And he has a lost against a C class fighter. Besides from the real boxing fans, Mosley doesn't stand to get anything from a win against Paul. Mosley hasn't ducked anyone his whole career. He has fought the fighters people did not want to fight. I think Mosley has earned the right to fight the guys he wants at this point in his career. Mosley's career is on a level that Paul's is not on right now.

Pwill ain't a WW no more and likely won't be again. Even if he was, SSM said flat out he don't want it. Sucks, but it is what it is. Pwill needs to focus on takin over at 154. That division is his to run imo. SSM better concentrate on the Cotto-Clottey winner, cuz boat buyer ain't gonna fight him.

its disgusting that a fighter as talented & exciting to watch as paul williams cant get a fight.
This is a effed up situation right here brah.
Goosen needs to step his mothafu**ing game up & get this man some fights. There are no stars in 154, cant believe they cant get a name guy in that division.
There are no fat cats in boxing except for oscar, manny, floyd, & ricky. This aint the auto industry, guys should be setting fights (jobs) left & right.
