2) Another part is that people compare the old heavyweight division (= called "cruiserweight" now, 175+ lbs) with the current heavywweight division (200+) although they are completely different divisions.

Chagaev has a better heavyweight record (= against 200+ opponents) than Frazier at the time of the bout:
Frazier: 15(10KOs)-2
Chagaev: 24(16)-0
Let's also not forget that Frazier was a featherfist (50% KOratio) and had a catarct (= WAS HALF-BLIND IN THIS FIGHT).
You are right: Wlad Chagaev is NOT Thrilla in Manilla. And that's very good that way. Noone wants to see 2 featherfists (Ali 40%, Frazier 50%) slapping each other for 15 rounds.

Back injuries can be debilitating. I know because I have had a couple in my powerlifting time...but given his hand 'injury' excuse and now this, it seems as though he is just an excuse generating coward. He should have manned up and admitted that he eventually thought that he had no chance. I guess he finally started watching Klitschko's fights in earnest and realized that he has not even a punchers' chance.

THAT was Thrilla in Manilla.
Who the heck would be interested in such a crappy matchup nowadays?
