I'm just very picky when it comes to crowning a Ring champion, because, to me, it's the only title that has any real credibility and consistency to it (for the most part). Again, I like the fight, but I don't think we cab really have a true HW champ without Wlad and Vitali facing off (as things stand now). If Wlad were to lose to Chagaev, then I would agree with Chagaev vs. Vitali for the Ring title.

I like this fight for multiple reasons:
1)It would finaly eveal who the true champ at Heavyweight is.
2)If Wlad wins as expected, there would be no place for Valuev to hide. He has to face one of the Klitschko bros at that point.
3)Don King would no longer have control over any Heavyweight titles.
Also, I think the reason that HBO didn't dign off on it because they fear it being another Ibragimov type of fight.Comment

I think that this point gets completely lost beneath the "Wlad is *****"- and "Haye is *****"-accusations:
Valuev refused to fight against Wlad "because on Wednesday he hadn't trained since Friday" and "Wlad is tall and orthodox but I trained for small and southpaw".
Of all the fighters involved Valuev seems to earn the "***** medal" most.Last edited by knn; 06-07-2009, 05:59 AM.Comment

Valuev is not real champion and has managed to make himself almost irrelevant to the hw scheme of things...I think that this point gets completely lost beneath the "Wlad is *****"- and "Haye is *****"-accusations:

Chagaev >>> Ibragimov though, and Chagaev will come to try to win, not just to survive. It will be a chess match, but still a much better fight, IMO, than any of Wlad's last few fights that HBO did show - and far more significant for boxing than any heavyweight fight since Vitali "retired". I still think it is de****able decision for HBO to refuse to show it.Comment

I was referring to where you wrote:
Who says that Haye got "genuinely injured"?
Which implies you think he might have faked it.
But having read it more carefully I now realise you were really accusing him of steroid abuse, which unless you have some evidence, I also think is ridiculous.Last edited by Dave Rado; 06-06-2009, 04:04 PM.Comment

I was not accusing him of steroid abuse. I was accusing the original poster to use adjectives like "genuinly" when we cannot be sure that it was indeed genuine (= without any help from steroids). A genuine injury would be a car accident. The original poster seemed to be too biased towards Haye and too biased against Wlad. That's all.I was referring to where you wrote:Who says that Haye got "genuinely injured"?Which implies you think he might have faked it.

You're absolutely right man, this is a much more competitive fight.
Let's not forget that Chagaev is a southpaw, as is Cory Sanders.
I respect Wladimer for taking the Haye fight, but this is much more competitivd than Haye-Klitschko in my opinion.Last edited by Drunken Cat; 06-07-2009, 06:05 AM.Comment
